I played like 3 games of community FFA and than just had to quit. All I was running into was people spray and praying with the AR. The AR in halo 4 is way too OP for the amount of skill it takes to use which is none.
So you’re mad that the AR is worth a damn this time around?
Okay.
Gee, maybe you should use a close quarters weapon on close quarters maps then.
Your weapon choice and the circumstances you put yourself in with it is a skill in itself. One just as important as reflex and aim, if not more so.
you pretty much just described how i feel about the DMR…
most ofnthe maps are CQB, the Auto SHOULD be dominate.
just play the “slayer pro” variant, if you want no autos.

Yes I am mad that a weapon that takes no skill is worth a damn now. If they actually added a good amount of recoil so it required some skill then I wouldn’t mind at all. As it is now though you can just hold down the trigger and get easy kills without the need of controlling recoil.
That’s because they’re close quarters maps in FFA. That means an automatic is the best choice.
Close quarter maps and you complain about a close quarters weapon. IMO the thing that needs to be removed more than anything else is the Jet Pack. I will vote for Slayer Pro every time because this AA breaks every map in the playlist.
Spray and Prayer.
Our Brother, who AR’d on Haven, bullet hose be thy game.
I’m fine with the AR being strong, I just wish it was harder to use. It has crazy amounts of auto aim and bullet magnetism, making it incredibly easy to use. Almost all the primary weapon balance issues in this game arise from auto aim and bullet magnetism. If these were nerfed across the board, many complaints would go away.

You must have never played Halo 1 multiplayer then, the AR and Plasma Rifle are beasts in that game.
Get over it.
i put a suppressor and AR on a loadout and use it in BTB.
Try to keep your distance when using a precision… ESPESIALLY DMR…
Since you only played 3 matches your Trueskill level for that playlist will be low, meaning you are more likely to be matched against unskilled players with AR as prefered weapon.

Exactly this. OP you sound like a noob. The AR is dominant in close quarters. Don’t engage in close range fights with a gun that isn’t as good for the situation.

The BR has recoil and more spread in Halo 4.
You’re telling me the Halo 4 variant is the most skillful version?

First off, calm down.
It says you haven’t even played Halo 4 yet.
And if I’m wrong, your most used weapon is more than likely the DMR.
Calm down.
The AR is a worthy weapon, it’s supposed to be used in CQC, especially in the Majestic maps.
Just. Take. A. Breather.

The AR does take skill. If you use burst fire you can can enemies at a longer distance which would not otherwise die if you spayed and prayed!

The AR does take some skill.
If you use the burst fire method you can kill enemies at longer distances which you would not have otherwise killed if you just sprayed and prayed.
Every week there’s a new variant of the AR hate thread. Mine went 12 pages, still proud of that one.
Your going to get the same responses, this forum is full of the AR heroes that you speak of. The good news is as soon as you win a few games in the playlist your tru skill will move up and the AR warriors will disappear as you face more skilled players, while the AR spray and prayers will continue to use their bullet hose, and lose, everytime. Yes, they will kill you far more times then they deserve because of the power of the AR, but as long as you win they will disappear rapidly unless their is some challenge with auto weapon kills taking place.

I completely disagree with you.
In my experience, the Assault rifle in halo 4 is one of the weakest versions in the series.
You are probably losing to the Assault rifle because of your tactics.
