Community DLC

Since this coming update was a disappointment to most. To redeem themselves and make fans happy I think it would be a good idea for 343 to release a community inspired update, where they add whatever the community wants.

Obviously one would be the falcon.

What do you think of this? Good? Bad?

This is a horrible idea. Just because “the community” wants it doesn’t mean it can or should happen.

Its not 343’s fault people over hyped the update. No matter what they will never be able to please everyone. Should they do a community inspired update? I see no harm in it. Will it please everyone? No.

Terrible idea

Well, perhaps not “whatever” but the most wanted or voted on.

That’s still a terrible idea. Again, just because it’s “most wanted” doesn’t mean it can or should happen.

Throw some community made map remakes in matchmaking and I’d be happy.

There’s a ton of them out there. Make a beta playlist to track spawn data for balancing. And give us 3 map remakes from every halo there’s been.

And what if the community wants a tornado gun? Do you realize how ridiculous this fandom gets sometimes?

I could see maybe a community DLC where things are SUBMITTED and then maybe VOTED on, but definitely not just adding everything that everyone wants.

that’s right, but maybe something like voting dlc, which things worth it and which shouldn’t be added, like visors they don’t worth it, everyone is just equal, something like 343 makes a forum and says which things they are developing and which things they can add to the update, then the community votes which things they want from those ones in the dlc and which they don’t

You don’t see how that is also not a great idea?

343: “Hey, here’s a list of stuff we’re considering, which is your fav?”
Community: “What? Where’s XYZ? We wanted XYZ, not this trash! You guys suck!”

There’s literally no winning with this.

Its amazing how you know that most of the hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of Halo 5 players are disappointed with the update.

why would that not work 343 consistently makes bad decisions about what we as a community want. they could listen to us for once that would be a nice gesture and it would maybe stop the bleeding out of players.

hell that’s true, well I think not everyone can undestand the difficulty of developing a game in certain time

You can’t please everyone, I understand that, and I do realize that the community can be a bit ridiculous at times.

However, I do think that this could be a great idea and a very bad idea. If it does get ridiculous then that wouldn’t be good but it could also be good, some of the things the community can come up with could be good.

Come on, surely there are things you would like to see in the game.

Alright, perhaps I exaggerated a bit by saying most. But have you seen the forums? There is constant -Yoinking!- about not getting the falcon, and it will happen every update until they get what they want

Forums = vocal minority.

Sorry bro, but this is a bad idea. Simply adding whatever the “community” requests would be an absolute cluster -Yoink-. Yes, there are some things that the community wants that would be good additions to Halo, e.g Elites, The Falcon (lol) and various maps and gamemodes from previously Halos. But this community’s voice is anything but singular and a lot of good ideas would be lost among the plethora of demands that people would make.

This is sadly true, but I don’t think the power of a vocal minority should be underestimated.
