I think it would be a good idea to finally get a good idea of how devided the community may feel regarding Halo 5: Guardians (particularly) in one big discussion.
What I’ll do in this thread is devide the two factions arguments, points, and concerns in to two seperate areas on this thread and display them for all to see.
Red team vs Blue team.
To to get started, Red team’s ideals differ from Blue’s. For example: Red Team believes the free DLC should’ve been released at launch l, including game modes, and is lazy development on 343’s part, while on the other hand Blue Team appreciates the updates and believes they are legitimate additions to the game.
(Remember we’re not talking about 1 issue here, we’re involving every concern and opinion possible, such as the topic of what went wrong with what and what is right etc)
NOTE: Some opinions may differ and either faction may have mixed opinions.
-----------------
Red Team
-----------------
Concern 1: Free DLC: 343 easily developed everything for Halo 4 at launch yet can barely add much to an update for Halo 5 that takes months to develop? Infection for example was made in Halo 4 at launch but takes months to develop for Halo 5 half a year after launch. The content improves the game but it’s barely enough.
Concern 2: Weaponry: Many of the old classic weapons and equipment (i.e. Bubble Shield) are missing from Halo 5 and would improve the game. In fact, rare legendary weapons, although great, are actually rip-off versions of some of classics, such as the Needler Cerbine vs the Needler Rifle. Why? It is also possible some of these upgraded weapons are overpowered, or in some cases are difficult to keep hold of in battle for very long.
Concern 3: Requisitions: The REQ system needs to go. Warzone is pay-to-win and micotransactions do not originate with Halo but corporate greed. The chances of even getting something cool out of it is low.
Concern 4: Story: The campaign was okay but it was a huge disappointment, especially if you compare it to the trailers which showed Locke vs Chief. What we got was lots of non-interactive dialogue instead. Most of the story actually didn’t make that much sense proceeding Halo 4. The Infinity did nothing the whole time while Guardians caused destruction elsewhere. The story seemed to evolve around Cortana’s return rather than Chief and it makes no sense, especially because she’s evil now.
Concern 5: Customisation: Halo Reach and even Halo 4 have superior customisation options than Halo 5 does. It was far more enjoyable to earn credits and buy each piece than to randomly obtain hundreds of armours “sets” that I don’t like (or a just too ugly) Still, it’s probably better than Halo 3’s armoury.
Concern 6: Playable Elites: No brainer. It’s obvious Halo 6 will need playable elites. It makes no sense to exclude them in Halo 5, especially after fighting alongside them again with the Arbiter.
Concern 7: Level Design: The maps are interesting but are too heavily dependent on using clamber. I’d prefer older, more memorable maps be implemented for Halo 5. Also, too many supposedly forged maps in matchmaking look like plastic.
Concern 8: Prometheans: There is not much explanation why the Prometheans are so involved in the campaign. Gameplay-wise the “soldiers” are too annoying and aren’t interesting. Knights stand around doing nothing. They should he smart like how they were in Halo 4.
Concern 9: Flood: According to the talking Grunt on Sanghellios, the Flood was not a scary enemy. One reason we love Halo is because of the Flood in the classic trilogy, and to see them forgotten as if they were popcorn chicken zombies is an insult.
Concern 10: Split Screen: Removing Splitscreen was a way to promote Xbox One sales by force. This is one of the main factors why Halo 5 has sold less copies than it’s predessesing titles. Replacing it for 60FPS was not necessary, even though 343 was very capable of developing Halo 5 with both, but chose not to.
-----------------
Blue Team
-----------------
Concern 1: Free DLC: Halo 5 is one of the only FPS games that give free updates. The content in each one improves the game and is satisfying. 343 is listening!
Concern 2: Weaponry: Including more classic weaponry in Halo 5 is unesesary. The REQ sandbox is already overload as it is. It would be a jungle out there if we added anything else. The legendary weapons are a fine addition to Halo.
Concern 3: Requisitions: The REQ system is extremely balanced. There only needs to be some improvements and hopefully a similar system is set up for Halo 6. If you pay for something (but didn’t get what you wanted) that’s you’re fault, not 343’s.
Concern 4: Story: Very good story. It was inspiring and the characters were well written. It’s a massive improvement when compared to games like Reach. I enjoyed playing through it.
Concern 5: Customisation: Perfectly fine. It could certainly be better but I’m satisfied for the time being. I look forward to obtaining the legendary armour sets.
Concern 6: Playable Elites: 343’s trilogy don’t need elites, and we have enough satisfying content without them. Spartans vs Spartans has definitely improved since Halo 4.
Concern 7: Level Design: The maps are great! Don’t see what all the fuss is about. They allow us to use our new Spartan abilities to unfold. We’re also really glad that we are able to include community made maps into the matchmaking.
Concern 8: Prometheans: Knights and Crawlers are improved from Halo 4. They were too annoying before but are now much easier and more interesting to fight. I like what 343 is doing and hope they add more cool enemies.
Concern 9: Flood: Bringing back the Flood would mean Everything Chief did before fighting on Requiem was pointless. There is definitely no need to see them return and would much rather let 343 continue finishing their story before even considering this option.
Concern 10: Splitscreen: Adding 60FPS shows 343 has the best intentions for Halo. Gameplay has never been more smoother, and we can expect Halo 6 to be even better! For now, we can justify why splitscreen was necessary to remove. Without 343 making that tough decision, Halo might not have ever moved forward. Plus, now that we have 60FPS, I wouldn’t want to let it go because it feels good. Splitscreen can wait.

Either Faction
-------------------------
Either Faction: Cliffhanger: Huge disappointed / Excellent Halo 6 Teaser
Either Faction: Graphics: Graphics look too cartoonish / Halo 5’s graphics are sort of cool and unique in its own way
Either Faction: Sprint: Needs to go / Needs to stay!
Either Faction: Audio: Halo 5’s audio is terrible / Music definitely goes back to its roots.
