Community Breakout > 343 Breakout

Honestly i am terrible at breakout (silver ranks both seasons) and i have solo q’d and played with a team so thats no the problem

i am just uncomfortable in the maps.

Community Breakout has solved that issue for me by including maps that make sense and are easier to read and more importantly allow plays on the flag that dont involve baiting or distractions you can legitimately make plays to win the round.

I have actually enjoyed the grind in Breakout and have made my way up to Silver 5

My votes for the maps to be included are as follows:

Absolute - Great map for vertical battles and DMR fights. The flag in the middle with adequate cover creates dynamic situations for both long range and CQ battles

Apparition - Second favorite. the symmetrical field with focus on cross map kills paired with the scattershots overwhelming CQ power creates engagements over both weapons and flag.

DeadCenter - Favorite over all. Not a great map for flag plays imo but this tight arena style map forces quick engagements. Active camo is a must have to out flank otherwise you can easily get out flanked if not watching your hallway.

HighRise - Aesthectically my favorite map. Very vertical in terms of gameplay with more CQC action thanks to the broken up sightlines on the ground level.

(Overpass is a good map but very generic with nothing outstanding imo)

(Canal reminds me of Longest from H: CE but it is far more campy than how Longest played)

I hate all these community breakout maps tbh I think they are pretty bad in design, almost all of them have a grav-lift to the top of the map for some reason that just wastes time, at least 2 out of the 4 maps you can just have people rush flag and have no problem just capping it, the map in the city is actually unbalanced due to the map they chose to build on because blue spawn has the sun blinding people that try to attack over there while red spawn you can easily see.

the flag is a big part of breakout (but the pros just want to slay for some reason)

they wanted to make the flag mean more so if you cant watch the flag or prevent plays on it then you need to make that part of your game plan

What I’m saying it they made it just a rush for flag its the one with speedboost and hydra, basically my team was playing breakout like we did on the other maps and tried to just eliminate (by the flag even) but in the end it was just which team grabbed flag first taking, its if the team is better runners than fighter, if they made the map bigger or just a bit harder to get flag to the cap point then it would be better.

Why not have someone guard the flag cap location if they keep rushing the flag in? You could just have your team set up to defend and kill that way.

Because all they need to do is have the guy flagtoss his way to the point and its not that hard to do it we did the defense tactic only to have them just switch off their guys and still make it just before the last guy died which is why I say if they map was bigger or if the flag wasn’t 30 feet from its start point it would make the map better.

I really liked the community maps

The community maps made me enjoy Breakout. I think they are fantastic, sure they could use a bit of work here and there but they are pretty neat.

you never said which map it is

I really like the concept of creating playlists based on community maps, but I’m not really into breakout. I hope we see the same thing for other arena game types.

“its the one with speedboost and hydra” boost is at the bottom hydra at the top flag to the side highrise I think

343 breakout maps are far superior to the community maps that I have played so far

I was extremely happy that they put a community breakout playlist in for the weekend, but I wasnt a huge fan of the maps. It was way to easy for someone to grab the flag and get across most maps. I dont understand why invis was on most of them either, that’s what makes gambol a nightmare. Whoever gets the invis wins the round. Breakout is obviously my favorite gametype, and i think the maps needs to be a little more thought out. Some of the maps over the weekend even had routes that you can get right behind the other team and kill everyone before anything happened (the cylindrical map comes to mind right away). I’m really happy they focused on breakout this past weekend, but I think the maps need a little help.

i personally prefer Arena Breakout and the way these community maps flow

Yeah I like these a lot more, it was an easy boost to Platinum II

what about them did you enjoy?

I love community break out, some maps i dislike but u still have alot of fun.

I didnt like 343’s maps, it was almost impossible to cap flag with out dying just getting to the flag.

and as for people complaining about easy flag caps and invis, if you lose around adapt and overcome! Did they flag cap straight up? Have some one watch flag. Did that invis guy just clutch your whole team? try to get invis first first or keep your gun pointed on that area waiting for him to go for it!

theres so many ways to play. You just gotta do what you think the other team won’t expect and have fun!
