I know this question has been posted, and reposted, and reposted some more.
But what would be some really cool weapons to have in Halo 4? Use that dried imagination.
Needler Cannon
Held like a Spartan Laser, this weapon is heavy and bulky. It fires heavy needles that explode seconds after contact.
It must be charged, and the longer it is charged, the more needles it fires. Firing off a max of 5 needles.
This weapon locks on to both vehicles and infantry. This is basically the Reach Plasma Launcher, but with needles. But I had this idea before Reach.
Katana
This weapon is first seen as an attatchment to the “Katana” chest plate in Halo 3.
It doesn’t run on ammo or charge. It breaks after 10 uses, but still works like a normal melee afterward.
It features a primary “Lunge” attack. And a quicker, secondary “Melee” attack. This is exactly like the Energy Sword, but it breaks, it doesn’t run out of charge.
Energy Shield
Jackals can be seen holding this “weapon” often. Also holding a pistol behind it.
This shield, doesn’t cover much of the legs when being held standing.
But crouching covers about 80-90% of the body and head. The User may hold a pistol out the side of the shield.
But it reduces accuracy. If the User does not have a pistol in the other weapon slot, he will simply hold just the shield.
This shield collapses after taking too much damage, or from an EMP blast, plasma pistol overcharged shot for example.
But regenerates after a few seconds.
What do you think of these? You got any cool ideas?

Eh, while armor affecting gameplay is not Halo esque, if the katana was unlockable again in Halo 4 and I could use it as a last ditch weapon, no problem here.
This is a little harsh, calm down they’re just ideas. Besides the jackal shield has been wanted for a long time and would be nothing like the Armor Lock, mainly because you would still receive damage from behind and well placed shots and it would slowly de-power. With that being said, I don’t think it should be in the game as a usable item. You need to be less harsh though.
Yes, I know the Needler Cannon is the same, but Ive had this idea before Reach came out.
The Katana is supposed to be just like the Energy Sword.
The shield is easily collapsable, and it takes a while to recharge.
The pistol sidearm would be incredibly inaccurate.
And if the shield were to collapse, the User would have nothing but a pistol to defend themselves.
You were looking at it wrong, it wouldn’t be op.
Look, the shield could be incorporated somehow, but to tell you the truth I don’t think it would work. The idea itself is old, the shield has been asked for since before Halo 2 came out. Honestly it is doubtful that it’ll make an appearance the idea is good if incorporated correctly but, again I doubt it’ll make an appearance.
Sorry for my harshness I am just thinking of it as if it actually was implemented. It would either be Op like Armor lock or Underused like hologram. I am not a fan of people who dont think about what they post.

I have thought about it, if you could see into my mind, you’d see that it wouldn’t op.
And even if it were, just change it in an update.

You do realise that the Mjolnir shield system was designed after the jackal shields? And it’s for that very reason why this is such an awful idea.
