After seeing some of the impression videos Bravo put out on his Youtube channel and some of the posts on several forum sites it seems like there is a common misconception about the scoring system in Halo 4.

Assists, medals, headshots, etc… do not count towards the team’s total points. It counts towards a player’s Spartan Points. If you watch one of the Halo 4 MLG Gameplay videos, you see that after a player gets an assist, it does not add 5 points to the total.

The only thing that counts towards a team’s point total are kills. Kills are now worth 10 points each because of how the ranking/currency system in Halo 4 is.

In the E3 build, each team was playing up to 60 kills. I have no idea whether it will be 60 kills instead of 50 in the final build.

Why this is a smart idea?? The better you play, the quicker you rank up.
