The pilot who will be acting as our companion throughout the game will be killed off in some way or remain alive by the endNow this one already has some red flags supporting it, such as the hologram of his wife and young son/daughter and how he wants to go home so badly. But some disagree and think that killing him off would be too predictable.

The Flood is going to return, but not play a significant role in the plotAnd what other purpose would they serve besides forcing a beat-by-beat repeat of Halo CE? Since we already have the Banished and Created in this “spiritual reboot,” any form of Flood would be only shown via terminals or a small-scale outbreak that doesn’t go anywhere besides token fan service

The UNSC Infinity is heavily damaged or destroyed Hinted at by the large amounts of Infinity crew labeled as [DECEASED] in the Gameplay trailer and the “We lost everything” quote by the pilot, and how Chief is floating around by himself. The UNSC are the underdogs again and that further points towards a grounded or out-of-commission Infinity.

The Spirit of Fire will intervene at some point during the campaign to assist Master Chief and the remaining UNSC forcesWell, a great Deus Ex Machina that could either work well or fail miserably since the Banished are in the game after all.

It will be revealed that Cortana is either suffering from the Logic Plague or being manipulated by the Didact or Mendicant BiasAgain, there’s almost nothing that supports this but since a Harbringer is the equivalent of a Forerunner, and the hidden audio hints to this as well.
Thanks for the sum up.
On the last point:
While I believe that Cortana is suffering from the logic plaue I don’t think Mendicant or the Didact is manipulating her. There’s more evidence for this for Mendicant and the Didact doesn’t fit both definitions of Harbinger, specifically the commonly used definition. Someone who announces the approach of another. Most jump on the second definition and immediately say didact with little or no regard to the first. A forerunner AI, a contender class (perhaps a new one), does fit both. Its just speculation on my part but I think its sound.
Having the Spirit of Fire as the deus ex machina wouldn’t really align woth their “soft reboot” mantra. I really hope they just stick to the Infinity crew and save the SoF for a HW sequel or DLC.
As for Cortana, it’s really a mess. I don’t know if I’d prefer the Logic Plage or just simple rampancy at this point. If it is the Logic Plague, I hope that factors into the game’s story and isn’t revealed in a terminal or something.
I do think the pilot is going to die, and I hope it happens quickly. I’d much rather be around one of the dozens of established, beloved characters that exist in the universe than this guy. Blue Team, for instance.
Any major characters/plot points shouldnt be in terminals (or data pads or whatever they roll with this time). I always felt like those should only add to the lore or hint at moments to come (kind of a behind the scenes look).
As for the pilot, I dont see him dying off. I really do believe he will act in the same capacity as Cortana did. Furthermore with them showing the hologram of his wife, I dont think they would add too much backstory into a character that they are going to kill off, unless its in an epic moment similar to the Sgt Johnson send off.
I disagree that there’s no evidence cortana has been logic plagued. She displays all the symptoms, right down to quoting the Gravemind almost verbatim, which is something those suffering from the plague tend to do. They get a warped perspective of morality, believing in oppression as a means of peace where before they might have been much more free thinking. It’s also the only explanation that makes sense and rectifies the major problems is halo 5’s writing (though not all of course).

I would really like to see the Spirit of Fire in Halo Infinite. Just imagine hearing Captain Cutter’s voice after you send a distress call for help or something like that. However, they would probably need to tie up loose ends between HW2 and Infinite, so you’re probably right that they should save it for DLC.
I would like to fight some human Banished factions and save some Spartans, ODST and Marines.
I’m not too sure on what could actually happen, since we’ve only got such little teases of the game. Though I’m still certain that Cortana was made up of the rampant fragments from Halo 4 and when they were transported to the Domain via slipspace, they were entangled with the composed Didact. It would explain the Didact’s speech she quoted word for word in Halo 5, which she had no way of knowing about, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were revealed he was the main baddie all along.
One hope of mine is that somepoint through the game, hopefully near the end after we’ve dealt with most of the Banished/Created/etc. We see a slipspace portal open and some Forerunner ship or something come through, and the one in command of the ship: Atriox. I’d love to see him in the game, at his “prime” so to speak, even though he got his butt kicked by the Spirit of Fire, and take up command of the Banished again. Against Chief if a weakened state, it would be really interesting to see how he’d make his way out of that situation.
TBH, it seems like Brohammer had a good introduction and fan reaction. I doubt 343 would kill him off so soon, given their mixed responses to the characters they have introduced to the franchise.
I agree which a lot of comments about the Flood. I think we may actually see them in game (hidden research labs filled with loot maybe?), but we probably won’t get a mass containment failure, as it makes sense for them 343 to retexture parts of the existing map for its first DLC.
I think the Created will serve as the 3rd act twist to the campaign, similar to the Flood in CE. We may get some introductory stuff at the beginning, but they’ll probably take a bit of a back seat for most of the game, given what we’ve seen so far.
The Infinity getting destroyed makes potential sense, as it would explain how a lot of UNSC items became scattered across the world map. It would open up options for the story to involve locating its crew.
I wouldn’t really want the Spirit if Fire to show up in the launch campaign. The story might be massive, but that shouldn’t be an excuse to cram all of the current loose ends into it.
I kind of have 2 ideas for the SoF though.
The first would be a second expansion for HW2, giving the game a nice 3 act structure, with the story focusing on the Created showing up, and the UNSC and Banished managing to escape the Ark and get back to the galaxy.
The second would come in the form of an expansion for Infinite which would take place in the Ark and involve the Chief liberating the SoF and taking back control.
I think Cortana does have the logic plague, so if anyone is pulling the strings, it could be the Gravemind. If this is the case, I doubt it will be revealed until the 1st or 2nd expansions.
At the end of the game Chief removes his helmet.
Cortana is the head we see.
Chief’s been the AI all along.
Also the: Locke will die
Here’s one more:
Blue Team will either be completely absent during the base campaign and only show up in future expansions, or only be present as a supporting role for the Chief (Each member using their skills to assist chief but no squad-based mechanics)
This one is most likely since the playerbase feels that they were shoehorned into Halo 5 for no reason.
The pilot may live and become the “new” Cortana.
Tbh I have never seen anyone predict this stuff
