so ive been playing halo reach, and i just noticed my commendations arnt increasing with every game i play. i have been trying to get my downshift to silver. i started at 714 and played two games of btb and got 41 wheelman, but it did not increase to silver. does this happen to anyone else
How many credits have you earned today? Because a while back 343i screwed up the credit cap and now for many people, if not everyone, when you hit 120,000 credits for the day your credits and commendations freeze.
The other possibility is that you tinkered with the time zone on your xbox. If you had previously had your time zone set forward to a time zone that is ahead of you, played a game online in Reach, then set your time zone back to your actual one, Reach will log the game oddly as your timestamp would be “before” a game you’ve already played previously, which will also freeze your credits and commendations until you “catch up” to the original time zone you played in.
I’m guessing you earned 120,000 credits and are experiencing the first situation as not many people use the time zone manipulation trick.
As LifeExpectancy said, it’s probably because you earned 120,000 cR today, which freezes commendations, yet you are still able to receive credits.
I really hope they fix it soon!
def not the time zone thing. and as for credit capping i havent done that since ive become an inheritor. its weird like i dont care about the credits, im just trying to get the commendation onyxed. but it just stops counting everything i do. its just frustrating that i dont get credit for what ive done. and there is nothing 343 is doing about this. FUDGE them!!! and this is only the beginning!!! please what a load of crap
Yay sorry to announce but 343 had nothing to do with 120k, was one of the last updates Bungie did… Although some people were hoping 343 would increase this, 60k was the first cr cap, be glad Bungie doubled it…
i got like 17million credits could care less about em! i bought everything so theyre just adding up. all i care about is commendation progresss at this point! and im at 93%. im trying for my matchmaking DOWNSHIFT one. i had 714 yesterday and played 3 games of btb where i got 41 plus wheelman. to uprgade to silve you need 750. i should be at 755! i didnt get credit for any of my wheelman. wtf??? can someone tell me what i gotta do to get those back! didnt credit cap at all!

Wrong. When Bungie increased the cap to 120k YOU COULD STILL EARN COMMENDATIONS even AFTER hitting the cap.
NOW, due to something 343i did recently when tinkering with the credit system to add custom challenges, they BROKE IT. Now, after you hit the 120k cap, your commendations freeze too. Also, you don’t get a message in game telling you you’ve hit any sort of cap like you did when BUNGIE was in control.
Bungie made the cap, but 343i BROKE it. Sorry for the caps but ignorance annoys me.

I’m having the same problem as el BlackTaco. I’ve hit Inheritor and am trying to get my Downshift commendation up but the commendations randomly stop counting. I’m not hitting the credit cap so it’s very annoying since I have to keep checking to see if the commendation count is increasing. This is a really dumb bug.
