Since everyone is so big about talking about the major “issues” about Halo 4, I thought I shift those topics into something that’s rarely been talked about: Commendations!
Commendations are neat awards that happily keep tracked on players collection of kills and medals in certain fields. It was good addition to Halo: Reach and its one of the reasons I keep playing it, to go as high as I can to achieve the maximum status in that field; i.e Assault Rifle Kills, # of Killing Sprees, # of Elites killed, etc.
I believe this feature should return to Halo 4. Also of what 343 say about players can purchase ordinance, armor, “mods”, etc. I think the commendations should link to unlocking something really special to the field you were working in. For example, Kills with a Battle Rifle can unlock something awesome when you reach onyx status in that field, like a new visual of the scope or the skin of the rifle (this is just me guessing, just pointing out possibilities.) I don’t know how to make an example of the medal commendations but feel free to post those ideas and I’ll make those ideas front page.
Also if it does return, what other kind of ideas can be input into the Commendation system? Maybe how many Flags players capture? Bomb plants? Heck, maybe bounty points from that new Regicide game type be tallied up into its own commendation? With the new Spartan Ops coming with Halo 4, maybe a commendation about completing a mission with no casualties?
Well, I get my ideas really slowly so lets see what you folks think about this and hopefully got better ideas about this.

It would be awesome to see a Sniper kill commendation!

headshots,
veichles,
multikills,
elites kills,
spartans killed,
kills as elite,
kills as spartan,
Automatic,
Heavy,
sideare,
closequarters,
asssasinations(including backsmacks),
commendation for wins!
commendation for total kills.
I would prefer commendations for each weapon, kind of like the service stars in Battlefield. I would not put limits on the commendation.
I’d submit an idea if I didn’t hate commendations. It’s a cool addition, but as a perfectionist it irritates the hell out of me that I’ll never get 100% Commendation Completion. Waaaaaay to much effort.
Let’s just say I wouldn’t miss them if they didn’t return in Halo 4.
Challenges, on the other hand…
Yes lots of challenges daily would be entertaining and give you something fun to look forward to.
I hope so. i think it’s a good idea. just wish it had a higher pay out when you completed them. Didn’t really flow when you completed some of them and it gave you X amount. sometimes just seemed kinda low.
I dislike them and don’t want to see them in HALO 4
If they do come back we need ones like ‘Win X gametype y times’.
As long as Spartan Ops and Campaign share the same commendations and they don’t have any that are impossible to Onyx (i.e. Grounded, Perfectionist) then I don’t care.
Just make some of them not impossible (unreasonable) and ill be happy.
Being a completionist is suffering.
Commendations were one of my favorite additions to Halo Reach, I’m really hoping that they will make a return for Halo 4. I would love if commendation progress achieved in Reach (onyxed rear admiral, gold trigger man, etc) will unlock special skins for weapons or some other type of award in Halo 4.

I would also like to see a Perfection commendation,…i know it would be a hard one but it would definatly be a good one
