So I tend to hit the ridiculous exp cap about an hour and a half into playing every day. I know there’s nothing I can do about it so I try not to complain about it. But, after completing one of the larger commendations today and realizing I get ZERO exp for it, I am slightly up in arms. Now whenever I hit the exp cap I don’t even want to play anymore because I don’t wanna complete commendations. Was it your plan to make people not want to play your game 343? This may not affect casual gamers who only play a little bit anyway but hardcore gamers are just going to hop onto another game. This has to be the worst business plan I have ever seen in my life. Its like if McDonalds put a cap on how many french fries you could have. Well people are just going to go to Burger King than. You say the exp cap is to keep peoples ranks closer together and prevent people from jumping ahead. But, that completely goes against what ranks are even about. Ranks are meant to be of a competitive nature. Humans are naturally competitive. It’s the main cause of out survival as a species. But, instead you’ve built this game around the little league baseball philosophy of “We’re all winners, even if you lose, here’s a trophy.”
Ok my rant is over. Now you can all tell me how much I am overreacting and blah blah blah.
i recognize its an attept to wrangle boosters early to control the rate at which people blow through the ranks …but thats really dumb because it just ends up punishing players who actaully …you know…like playing the game

I’ve done BTB and Dominion with my clan for hours without hitting the cap. In fact the ONLY time I’ve hit the cap was AFTER playing 20 games with double xp.
What am I missing? How am I the only one NOT hitting the cap after 2 hours like everybody claims?
I honestly don’t know what the cap is at. Today for instance, I hit it after 5 games which accumulated to roughly 30,000 exp. My mind was utterly blown.

Noone really plays to enjoy the game? I miss the times of Halo 1, where there was no level, no exp, you was just entering a random game, starting talking with other players and having fun, becouse the aim was to play and win, not to “recive most xp to lvl up”.
As you talk seems that when you will be max rank and got all commendations you would stop playing, becouse you don’t recive anything any more.

You can make about 5-6k per game by playing the final mission in chapter 2 of spartan ops but personally id rather play wargames instead.
You should not be capping at 30k. When I hit my first spec, since it started at 0 EXP, I kept track of every point I earned, and the cap took effect at 150k. I have purposefully hit the cap multiple days to make sure that the cap is consistent, and each day, it’s still 150k.
The ONLY time I have heard of anyone capping that low in a day, is after they tried to bypass the credit limit by altering their Xbox time settings.

Problem solved then, I can live with 150k since I have a job.

Spartan Ops - Clean Up
If you place 1st or 2nd you can walk away with 10,000+ xp when using the doubleXP promo. Last night I got 11,750 xp a couple of times in that mission.
