In halo reach and halo 4 getting onyx commendations was a goal to work towards. Now everything only requires like 100 kills… I have grenades battle rifle magnum and sniper maxed and the game hasnt been out that long… Should 343 increase the kills you need to get? I feel like it would increase longevity.
I think its fine given the amount of commendations I’ve got roughly that many but not the same ones. I’m on 5/5 in AR and magnum 4/5 in BR
Creating new accounts is too easy as well. Alternate accounts are not allowed on these forums.
I’m hoping that commendations get upped a level every so often. Be a good way to keep engaged, I think. Or, maybe even better, let people choose to reset commendations, like re-upping in GoW, CoD, etc.
I have basically all the loadout and warzone ones done or about to be done except Warden Kills, Watcher Kills, and DMR kills. All the others are pretty close to done, and it’s not that far into the game’s lifetime.
I agree to an extent. Many of them are very easy to finish, especially if you’re good at the game, but there are some that I wish weren’t there. Specifically, the “destroy enemy Mongoose” one. You just don’t see too many people running around on Mongeese and when you do, it’s far more common to kill the driver before the vehicle takes even remotely enough damage to explode. Another one would be the Mantis, mostly just because they’re so rare to see. Other than that though, I’m pretty happy with how they are, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them bump it up every now and again.
They do seem a bit quick, i maxed BR and magnum after a solid night of SWAT and maxed my sniper after this weekend’s shotty sniper playlist.

Thats what i was thinking i maxed my sniper after like 9 games of shotty snipes
Why does it matter. Nobody but you sees or cares about it. it’s just side matter to work towards if you’re a completionist or bored. Idk bout you but, I’m not going to look into somebody’s profile and be like oh he doesn’t have that many commendations, guess he’s not any good at this game.

When you master a weapon you get a req pack with the emblem of the gun. In previous halos when you saw a mastery armor or emblem you knew that person put in some serious work to get them. Now it just means you got 100 kills with a weapon which kind of sucks. I thought for sure when I hit 5/5 it was going to go to bronze and continue on until onyx, but it gave me the pack right away…i was really surprised

Back when i got the DMR onyx on reach i thoughr i was the coolest kid 
maybe old times should be left in the past

Bro, have you completed the Legendary Boss Kill Commendation? No. You probably haven’t.
I must agree with OP… I was slightly disappointed when I saw only 5 levels per commendation. It would be nice if they could add up to level 10 as the game continues its life cycle!
Reach and 4s were defiantly better.

See this would work but what about a new take on it. Make it so you get something for each time you cap it to tier 5? and then it resets and the values go up a bit. Maybe have a new area to spend your points like cp (commendation points) with only certain unlocks, armor, or stuff of that nature.
Or personally I think this would be cool. For the starter weapons the ones you get in war zone say you max your AR out, you get a token to unlock one of the AR’s that you have access to for war zone to use in arena. Personally in that instance I would like the silenced AR. and since it would only be starting weapons it wouldn’t make a huge gap since they don’t do any more damage they just have different attachments.
