Alright, question about reqs, obviously you open silver and then gold, but, how do you get enough base weapons (shotgun, carbine, needler, rocket launcher,) as in, not req variants? Especially for commendations, I’m not quite sure how people obtain hundreds of Spartan lasers etc.
I’m confused on commendations, what exactly do they give besides XP, as in, is there anything special in the packs? Any exclusives? Do they give RP?
And finally, vehicles. I’m always afraid to call in anything, as I’m sure I will be instantly boarded or destroyed, any tips? Same kinda goes for weapons.
Basic weapons are also in REQ packs. Most of the lighter weapons (Shotgun, Boltshot, Carbine, etc) can be easily acquired from Bronze packs due to being Commons. More powerful weapons, such as the Rocket Launcher, Spartan Laser, and Sniper Rifle are generally easy to get in Silver packs. I’m going through Gold packs right now, but for base weapons, I think buying Silver packs is a fairly easy way to accumulate a lot if you haven’t collected everything.
Commendations don’t do much aside from giving you some REQ packs and XP. Certain emblems are only found in the Commendation Complete packs, though.
As for tips on using REQs effectively, I think it’s better to play more conservatively. Rather than trying to go to the engagement, try to stay back andkill from a distance. Of course, this approach doesn’t work with CQC weapons like the Energy Sword or Gravity Hammer, but for those weapons, try base defense, using active camo if you have it, and camp a little. No shame in camping. It’s a legitimate strategy.
By the way, what about when you finish reqs completely, what packs should you purchase then?
If i remember correctly, even if it is a variant of a weapon it counts towards your commendations.
If you’re worried about getting insta-boarded by campers who have nothing better to do other than sit on top of the enemy vehicle spawn, look at the garage/fortress (except Apex 7) at the spawn screen.
After finishing all your REQs, what packs you want to open really depends on what you want to get.

When you finish completely, I’m pretty sure you can buy pretty much whatever you want, but if you want more Ultra Rares and Legendaries, go with Gold packs.

Likewise anti-camping is a legitimate strategy too

Obtaining weapons: Req packs, Arena, Fiesta, Kill someone on the enemy team and take theirs. Variant kills count towards the main weapons commendation as well. The best thing I would say is use each weapon to the fullest effect you can and try to call them in when it would benefit your team and allow you to use them safely.
Commendations net you req packs as well, when you finish one you get an emblem.
Well, some of your vehicle will get destroyed. That is going to happen. The best things you can do is spawn it in a safe area (usually the home base) and try to stick to cover. If you have a mate to watch your back that will extend your life span a lot. If you’re worried about a spawn being camped, go to the area and check it out before you spawn the vehicle in. There are those moments where you spawn in a banshee/phaeton and immediately get lasered out of the sky. There isn’t a lot you can do to prevent that.
