Can commendation-point things done in ‘custom’ games count towards commendation progress? For example, if I were to play in a Custom Game-type (downloaded, and played with other people who have it) where it’s everyone on both sides in Mantises blasting the crap out of each other, would I get points towards ‘Mantis Gunner’ and ‘Mantis Destroyer’ for my kills?
Or can you only make those progresses in ‘official’ Arena and Warzone matches?
You can only make commendation progress within the Arena or Warzone.

Actually mongoose kills counts gungooses. It takes time but is easily done on Warzone

Just by playing the game you complete those, it’s not something you do in a day. This isn’t the old cod’s where you can stat pad in private matches.
Basically, just play the game. ESPECIALLY warzone if you want to finish them.

To reply, I copy-paste my opening quote from my last thread, “Can’t Get Mantis or Phaeton Kills”:
There are no Phaetons in BTB, and only one (extremely-rarely-selected) map has a Mantis. The only place to get kills with those vehicles is in Warzone…But… in EVERY SINGLE Warzone match I play in ever since I started trying, we get our butts kicked and the big DEFEAT sign before I can get any more than Level 5 Reqs AT MAX, [Added for repost: or I hit Level 6 when the enemy has, like 950-970 points and I’d only get one or two Mantis kills at most before Defeat]. And considering the Mantis needs L6 and the Phaeton L8…If 343i doesn’t add the Mantis to more BTB maps and also add the Phaeton somewhere, those two Commendations will never, ever, ever, EVER be completed.
In terms of destroying Mongooses; by the time you get a weapon capable of taking out a 'goose (as in, not just killing the driver while leaving the vehicle intact), nobody is using them anymore, having moved up to other vehicles.
And for the Breakout ones and Bulldozer, I’m just not good enough. I’ve been playing for nine months, am at SR108, and I’m still just not good enough.
And “And Stay Off”, getting a kill of someone who’s clambering, is absurdly rare; after nine months I’m still barely at Level 3/5
You don’t get commidation points in custom nore do you get XP or REQs.
