Hello all
So I’ve found a large portion of what keeps me playing Halo 5 (Other than the multiplayer just being tons of fun) is the progression system.
I’m naturally working my way through the permanant REQs, but I find I had been constantly checking my commendations.
Note “had”. I’ve completed a fair few, and I’m earning the game type ones as I go, but I’ve found the by-and-large a game I play likely won’t contribute towards a commendation any more.
So I got to thinking, and was wondering what everyone though about a Call Of Duty-esk commendation system? I’d love to see my sniper commendation up to ‘onyx’ level for example
I dont play CoD and have no idea what its commendation system is. explain it please
I like the commendations. I just wish you at least got an achievement with some gamer score or something other than the usual emblem that no one really cares about. I have just about all of them. The only ones I need to finish up are mongoose destroyer which I only need ten more. Then some of the game type one, strongholds, breakout, ctf. I would be a lot further along with some of those since for a long time btb didn’t count towards commendations. Also I hate break out so I never play it. But since btb now counts and even the break out game types in action sack I maybe able to grind them out.
The way it should have truly worked is you unlock weapon variants by getting a certain number of kills with said weapon. For example you open a req pack and you get a fuel rod gun certification. Then after say 50 kills with it you unlock the second tier fuel rod then after 100 more kills you unlock the their tier. That would have been sweet.
So, basically you want the Commendation system from Halo Reach?

I actually really liked that commendation system. It seems funny that we have such a long push for XP, but not so much with some of the commendations. I finished quite a few of them right off the bat. Some of them just felt too easy. Then the DLC add ons have no commendations linked to them. That, to me, is the most disappointing.
