Commando

So far I’m really liking the weapon sandbox in the flight but I feel like the Commando could use some tuning. I don’t think it’s much of an upgrade from the starter loadout most of the time but there may be some skill-gap to it that I haven’t fully realized. It just feels like in closer engagements the sidekick and AR are better alternatives and while it does have some long range benefits I also feel like the sidekick outclasses even that a lot, and without a doubt the BR obviously. I think from playing this flight I’d have rather had the Saw back in game in place of the Commando in its current state, or maybe a slightly reduced kick or lower TTK from body shots (it is an auto after all)

Ditto… zooming/aiming is useless. It’s really only good for hip firing. Too unpredictable for close encounters. Bring back the saw and DMR!

The Commando is a mid to long range weapon. I’m sure the scope will come in handy in BTB but for Slayer maps it’s not necessary. And it will outperform the Sidekick at long range any day. For mid range engagements it’s a handy weapon for sure, i’m just as likely to pick it up as I am a BR.
I certainly do not recommend using a commando in close quarters. That’s why we have an AR and Bulldog

From what I’ve seen, it’s more medium range. 343 designed this weapon as a more powerful AR. I do agree with OP in regards the TTK needs to be brought down, perhaps one shot. The sidekick and the commando require the same amount of shots to kill. 6 to break and one to the head if you can hit your shots accurately. I think a 5 break and a head shot would let it compete with the sidekick.

The AR and the Commando fill the same roll of an automatic weapon the only difference is the Commando has a scope and a shorter TTK. There needs to be a bigger difference like a slower firing rifle with higher damage while the AR keeps it spot as the automatic rifle.

Tap firing it seems to work best. And definitely don’t ADS, the bloom gets worse and the recoil becomes way more noticeable.

Dont want the saw back. The AR is finally a good gun to have and is all round great weapon. The commando needs a lil tweaking and it will. I loved the DMR but after playing so much Reach i miss halo 3 and noticed a big difference when starting to play the MCC. DMR every match is just people being pinned down and gettung picked of at a distance and its not fun gameplay.

Slightly faster shooting speed needed, compensate the ttk with that by making the bullets a tad less powerful, but making it have less recoil when zoomed in. It’s a pain to shoot on controller. The br wins every time at the distance this weapon is meant for. No reason to use the commando instead of the br in its current state.

The gun absolutely shreds. Simply tap the trigger instead of holding and it becomes a precise animal.

I think it’s on the edge of being op tbh. If aim assist is improved for crossplays sake, then the weapon will likely need to deal less damage imo, it has a 1 second ttk, it either needs to be really hard to use or deal less damage. On pc it already seems rather poweful.
