Commando needs a buff bad

Title says it all. Ttk too long for a pickup weapon. The starter AR is legit better.

I personally avoid it completely now. Have better results with pistol or AR.

I fought someone who had no recoil on it. It was a beast. That’s how it should be fixed

there have been times where I’ve absolutely beamed noobs with the commando, plus i see it as a decent secondary weapon too especially in ranked, ill give it a grab. but they should definitely buff it even more so i can continue to mow down

Funny thing is that when watching the MLG Halo Infinite games, even the pros avoid the commando if at all possible. From what I hear, the commando was originally much stronger, but 343 nerfed it. The issue people have is that using a controller, the recoil is unmanagable, or at least WAY to strong for how weak each bullet is. Those using a mouse have a much easier time controlling it. I can kill someone using a commando against me using the sidearm pistol 90% of the time. Either the commando bullet damage needs to be buffed, or the recoil needs to be decreased.

Yeah, even I think twice about grabbing it. It just needs less recoil,

it felt really nice in the tech preview but they nerfed it. I think the bloom/recoil after the first 6, 7 bullets becomes too much and its hard to use compared to other weapons in the sandbox. Also the aim assist on it with controller is almost none existent when you aren’t scoped in

Loved the weapon during the test flight but next to useless now. I hardly see people pick it up now. It needs to be restored back to its former self. I don’t mind the recoil but the damage needs to be increased so you are rewarded.

Everyone out here talking about the commando and AR while my main wish is to have the pulse rifle be a gun that i dont dread picking up

The commando is only useful if you rapid-fire a single shot from long range and all shots hit the head. Not very useful in arena-type maps.

I really like it in the PvE sandbox, although even there it doesn’t feel quite right for precision utility in terms of pacing shots and recoil.

For PvP it does feel pretty toothless for the most part, though. The Sidekick fulfills the same niche pretty much exactly as well, so it doesn’t ever really feel worth going out of your way to pick up a Commando.

It’s just got an unforgiving difficulty curve. I have gotten pretty good with it out of necessity since it shows up way more often than BR’s do for whatever reason. If you can’t land that headshot though it’s useless. It could use at least a slight buff to body shot damage. Sometimes you just have to force that close range mag dump sort of fight to save yourself from an AR or Sidekick, and it can’t do that anymore unless you get a perfect and they miss. I get what they’re going for but it makes it less viable than a lot of weapons and often makes it an ignored weapon.

Still I love the design and concept. It looks absolutely badass imo

I don’t know if I would say it needs a buff as much as it needs some control. It’s tough landing consecutive shots with that thing.

I agree. The nerf to it prior to launch really harmed it’s use imo. I feel like the recoil should have been decreased with the damage nerf. That would have caused the nerf to feel better in some ways IMO.

Regardless, I feel that pre-nerf command was good. It offered the fastest TTK but it demanded the player be able to use it skillfully as it punished the player if you missed a crit-shot or let the recoil get out of control.

Commando is really difficult to use. You have to shot short bursts, otherwise the recoil is really bad. On the other hand, its really powerful in short distance.
But i dont that this is how it should be used.

It really could, but also, so many people just can’t or don’t use the weapon in its best situations. Thus they say the weapon is bad. Use it in its proper situation and it will work how it’s intended.

The commando is great if you’re using M&K, but if you’re on console just ignore it.
