I’m finding the commando unusable at the moment, for some reason after I crack the armor with a Commando, the aim assist just disappears and it’s impossible to get the last headshot. I’ve seen the same issue on my PC and Console or 2 different accounts with different settings so I’m 100% it’s broken. Has anyone else had this issue?
I do think there’s something up with it, but I find I don’t have as much trouble if I single-fire the weapon as opposed to full-auto.
While I don’t think it’s a shield pop issue, it’s a overall gun issue.
The commando needs some work to even be able to compete with the BR, it’s lack of aim assist overall is just killing the weapon.
or ya know, make it a semi-auto like a certain weapon we know…
It seems to me to behave entirely different to the Weapon Drill Commando.
Obviously it’s also quite different to the version from the Flights.
In game, I can crack a shield, but then my opponent just tanks round after round. Of course I’m going for the headshot, but it feels like the weapon fights you
I believe it’s intentional.
The Commando’s functionality is better at range where the reticle can encompass large parts of the target and its meager aim assist kicks in. Mid to close range it’s not intended to be used. It fills the role where the battle rifle leaves off.
The commando has basically zero bullet magnetism, so you have to be dead on in order to get a headshot with it, compared to the BR, which has a small amount of magnetism.
If that is the case then why make it full auto? If it’s intended to be better at longer ranges than the BR is, much like the old DMR was, then why give it a full auto firing mode? It seems to me like full auto is supposed to help it at close-mid range, but it doesn’t really as the reticle bloom, recoil, and in general unwieldiness of the Commando in full auto makes it pretty much useless at the close-mid range where Pistol, BR, and AR all do fairly well.
I always assumed the full auto and single fire capability meant it was supposed to be a half step between AR and DMR, not as good at long range as DMR while not as good at close range as AR, but excelling in the ranges between those 2, let’s say 10-30m being it’s most effective range. But it’s not really effective at that range at all in my experience, I do best with it in single fire at DMR like ranges. 30-50m.
Maybe it is supposed to give it effectiveness at closer ranges, but I think it goes deeper than that.
The DMR could get really spammy if you wanted it to, but timing and pacing your shots allowed you to maintain accuracy at long distances for better results.
I think this is an example of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”.
I think it’s just broken lol, like the other person said, if it was a long range weapon only it wouldn’t be full auto and the DMR would be better.
