Coming from a sprint hater

I actually think the gameplay is fun. Do I wish we could go back to Halo 2/3 style gameplay? Totally. But it would be extremely jarring for most fans who are now used to sprint.

I don’t think it would be a good idea to just remove sprint. Sure, if they never added sprint, we wouldn’t be talking about it, and we’d just be enjoying the games. But they did and here we are. I do think that now that 343i’s split the Halo community in half with altering the game’s formula, that they should start taking measures to appeal to both sides. And I think they did take a first step: Adding the option to remove it in customs. Seriously, that’s awesome. But I think they also need to take it a step further and have some dedicated classic playlists in Halo 6. Another step would be making Halo 3 Anniversary (If they make it) completely awesome and 100% functional.

Anyways, in short: No, they shouldn’t just remove sprint. I think, at this point, it needs to stay. But I also think they should start also appealing more to huge classic fans since the community is so divided.

P.S. We really need more open map design. Kinda hate how you’re basically forced to use sprint and abilities to navigate around the map. It’s kind of silly.

Or, you know, in Halo 5. Just saying.

I dunno. There comes a point where it’s just like enough is enough.

Yeah, that would be sweet, too. Honestly not getting my hopes up though, since they haven’t even put other gametypes in yet. It’s probably one of their least priorities for Halo 5 right now. Which is why I mentioned Halo 6.

been p[laying a lot of custom games with buddies lately, trying out different maps and the game mode tied to it. and i have to say it is unbearabley painful playing some of the games as classic, with no abilities and no sprint. Halo 3 was no fav halo MP wise

The key is you also have to speed up the base movement (120% feels good), and maybe even keeping clamber to navigate around the maps.

This is so true. I was playing Halo 3 a few nights ago and I couldn’t register to not try and sprint or evade from danger with Thruster. It was hard for me to play it but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.
