Coming back

I stepped away from halo a little while ago and I’d like to get back into it but had a few questions. Does Anniversary have its own separate matchmaking? Or is it just Reach’s matchmaking on another disc, like ODST and Halo 3?

And the new maps. Do you get them for Reach if you buy Anniversary? Or do you have to buy them off the xbox live marketplace?

Thanks!

Anniversary uses Reach’s engine for multiplayer, the Anniversary disk only has the 6 multiplayer maps and one Firefight map, but it does come with a code to download it as a map pack for Halo: Reach.

Anniversary’s MP is a map pack for Reach. It can be played from the CEA disc or downloaded to your console to play on in Reach. There are several “Anniversary” playlists in Reach that require this map pack and which can be played from the CEA disc.

Note that, from the Anniversary disc, you can only play the Anniversary maps. To play the rest of Reach’s maps, you need to use the Reach game itself.

Also i would mention that if you didn’t use the CE:A disk for the maps, you can buy them off the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 MS points.
