I come back after a year to find slayer games completely unwinnable no matter how good I play. +10, loss, +15, loss. Every ranked matchup has players spanning from going negative 15 to positive 15; players that are several divisions apart in actual skill. Around 50% of my games have early quitters. I sincerely hope Halo Infinite flops so I won’t hear any more from this failed series. The fact that 343 can’t create a better multiplayer environment than this during 3 long years boggles the mind.
Best regards!
I think there should be a more similar grouping of skill. Especially when players form large groups aimed at dominating weaker competition, which they often are. I really don’t care if I’m playing a bunch of better players but at the same time, there should be people around my skill level on the opposing team and a bunch of players better than me on my team.
You’re not wrong. I still enjoy the game, however I’d like to add that I’ve had tougher matches against platinums than diamonds or onyx players. Something doesn’t quite add up.

Okay, bye.
I’d actually want it to be good because then it likely means the ranking system will be decent and then you won’t get lack of population issues in the playlists which is probably what you’re experiencing with the gaps in skill matching.

Such a sour mouth you have there. Dont best regards on anyone when you are hoping they would fail just to satisfy your annoyance.
It’s well known that you can’t be 100% successful in ranked without a fireteam. Starting rants about how crappy matchmaking is doesn’t make much sense here. You could very well be playing a squad that has a good mix of players. I’m not saying Halo 5’s multiplayer is flawless (far from it), but you’re not criticizing the right thing here.
If you are so concerned with winning you need to get some teammates to play with and don’t rely on random players… Random players will get you random results. There is a wider gap in skill now because the population isn’t strong enough to always match perfect match ups and even then it may not be great as you never know who is actually playing or if they are even going to be on their game.

Spot on. I kinda get why you’re frustrated OP, but it ain’t the game’s fault. The actual matchmaking system has seen some marked improvements since launch but with low population numbers there is no way to guarantee balanced games. Furthermore, Quitters are something that is completely unrelated to Halo 5 itself. You’ve had people bailing early since the Halo 2 days. Get a fireteam, or delegate yourself to only playing Super Fiesta and the like.
