Is this simply a tag line or do you guys thing there’s more to it?
I pray to god it doesn’t mean Ironsights. The worst thing to grace shooters.

I think it means more innovative ideas that will actually benefit the game. It’s not cool that 343i basically used Halo 4 as Halo 5’s beta, but it worked
What can we say?
Also, with iron sights, I wouldn’t mind it. It makes sense spartans would actually try to aim although it basically gets rid of binoculars.
iron sights would be the final straw that makes me put down halo and never pick it or a new halo up ever again.
> iron sights would be the final straw that makes me put down halo and never pick it or a new halo up ever again.
Because CoD or some other game uses it and Halo never did? According to your logic, we should just throw practicality out the window and just keep tradition.
Honestly I don’t care whether or not iron sights comes into Halo, but to say it shouldn’t because it doesn’t keep tradition is just straight up ridiculous.

it would be redundant, unlike sci fi cod with its magical cross hairs and magical map that only shows people shooting, in halo the reticle is actually explained in the game, its the targeting computer projecting on your visor where you gun is aimed at since the gun is connected to your suit.
technically we are already aiming down the sights, but via the mjolnir suit.

the mechanic literally has no benefit to gameplay that the system currently used does not have.
why should I have to hold a button to just shoot straight? its unecessary
> Because CoD or some other game uses it and Halo never did? According to your logic, we should just throw practicality out the window and just keep tradition.
Where in their post did they say this? This is a blatant strawman argument, and you are forming an argument according to your own illogic, not their logic.
> Honestly I don’t care whether or not iron sights comes into Halo, but to say it shouldn’t because it doesn’t keep tradition is just straight up ridiculous.
It shouldn’t come in because, much like sprint, it slows down and breaks the flow of combat. Guns should be accurate to begin with, you shouldn’t have to move at a snails pace just to shoot things.
Halo is an arena shooter. Constant moving and shooting define these games. Not sprint, camp, shoot, repeat. Next I suppose you will be wanting timed grenades and the ability to prone.
Doing something because of tradition is bad.
Doing something just because everyone else is doing it is also bad.
If a game mechanic is inferior to the current mechanics it should be left out.
Getting back on topic, where is this tag line mentioned?
I think it’s simply a phrase taken from the original Halo to give enough nostalgia to push some people to buy Halo 5.

I would definitely like to be able to aim with the concussion rifle at farther ranges. Besides, it’s not like it would change gameplay that much. Weapon shots would simply be more accurate even if you’re a spartan because firing from the hip is just never as accurate as lining up a shot unless you’re a machine.

I was waiting this. A topic on this sentence.
Already wrote in a post that if there isn’t a real gameplay innovation I will be very angry with Bonnie Ross. I hope she didn’t use these words lightly and that we will really see something surprising.
The last time “combat evolved” the best game ever seen (until halo 2!) was released, completely changing the videogame world.
Why put in iron sights when the weapons are already accurate?
p.s To me I think a game is more skillful without iron sights.
I wouldn’t like ironsights simply because we have the Suits to help us with such aiming assistance.
I also think it looks dumb. Sorry, I really do think ironsights look really stupid, however logical they are. I don’t like the aesthetics but meh.
> Where in their post did they say this? This is a blatant strawman argument, and you are forming an argument according to your own illogic, not their logic.
They referred to the idea and it seemed like the only reasonable thing out of their post. True it was my fault to assume, but I assumed with good reasoning.
> It shouldn’t come in because, much like sprint, it slows down and breaks the flow of combat. Guns should be accurate to begin with, you shouldn’t have to move at a snails pace just to shoot things.
Sprint doesn’t slow down combat next to at all. The whole point of it is to speed it up and get players around the map and to their enemies faster. The only way it could actually slow it down is by some guy fleeing the fight and using sprint to run away behind cover, but even then you too have sprint to pursue him.
> Halo is an arena shooter. Constant moving and shooting define these games. Not sprint, camp, shoot, repeat. Next I suppose you will be wanting timed grenades and the ability to prone.
Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t play nor like the gameplay of CoD and other games that follow that style of FPS.
Who said if iron sights had to even affect speed? When did I ever say I wanted it in the game? I even said it’s something that doesn’t matter to me.
> Doing something because of tradition is bad.
> Doing something just because everyone else is doing it is also bad.
When did I say iron sights should be in the game because other games did it? I’m not sure what the point is that you’re trying to get across here.
> If a game mechanic is inferior to the current mechanics it should be left out.
Your opinion, but I partially agree with you.
> Getting back on topic, where is this tag line mentioned?
The woman who presented the Halo 5 trailer mentioned it when the trailer ended at E3.

I have to agree with you here, it definitely bring in more skill to FPSs.
i dont like scoped in play. so im all for iron sights as it puts scoped players at a disadvantage.
im thinking shields may be gone or weakened and health may be back.
I think she just meant it was evolved because of dedicated servers and 60fps, it evolves the core experience.

We will see if worked or not when the game is released
I have always liked Battlefront and Halo for the fact that iron sights are not in the games, just zoom. It makes the games feel unique. If iron sights are added to the game, then I will be mad, but I do not think they meant that… BTW, who said that OP? I probably missed it… Was it during the conference?

That 343 lady said it after they showed the teaser.
Why am I the first to think of this?
How is transferring over to iron sights, evolving?
That would be devolving.
