so I was wondering how many medals counted towards the “combat opportunist” commendation.
it only says “Earn any combat skill medal” and the only medal I found that counted towards it is the “from the grave” medal.
the reason I know this is that I have 119 combat skill medals and 112 of them are kills “form the grave”.
the only medals I think that can also maybe count towards it are these
7 retribution |X|
or
5 showstopper |V|
and or
2 combat evolved |X|
or
2 snipeltaneous |V|
or
2 perfection |X|
or
2 fastbal |X|
also the thing i find hilarious is that top gun(161), triple double(83), airborne snapshot(75), snapshot(69), hail mary(20), nadeshot(15), clusterluck(9), killionaire(1), … don’t count as combat skill medals but something random and uncontrolled like kills from the grave counts as a skill medal?
- why don’t BigTeamBattle CTF and stronghold victories count towards the flag victory and stronghols victory commendation?

after the infinity’s armory stream they patched it and gave away the medal list.

I still haven’t maxed that commendation because:
- I have no idea which specialist medals count
- Apparently the ones that do count I only get once every 3 games
It appears to be stuff like Showstopper, Bulltrue…etc. So ultra rare medals.

showstopper maybe but it can’t be bulltrue because i have 10 of those and that would bring my combat skill medal count to 122 and its only 119.
- I can check how many combat skill medals I have thanks to the halo channel cellphone app.
Yeah I was wondering how the hell to finish the commendation, it just seems random to me (i know its not, but I just dont know why I get this once and a while).

Last shot also counts towards this. Cluster luck counts. I believe hail and rocket Mary’s count but not entirely sure.

when the game is over and if I see that I did something towards my combat opportunist commendation, then I will write down the gametype, map, teamscore and playlist to check my medals later on halowaypoint.
EDIT: and also my commendation progress to see if i went from 6 to 8 or whatever.

Hmm I don’t know. But in on the last stage and I barely have any from the graves. Much confused

it’s enough to be in you’re 4th level of you’re combat opportunist commendation.
I have 112 and I’m in my 5th level.

How do you figure 119? Isn’t it 10+20+30+50+100 and you are 13 through the last level which would mean 123.
I have 69 combat skill metals and 67 from the grave, that would mean it is either:
Retribution (1) and BXR (1)
Noob Combo (2)
Nade Shot (2)
EMP assist (2)
Showstopper (2)
Assuming from the grave is part of it… which it may not be.
Still a mystery.

I’m 100% sure that “from the grave” is a combat skill medal. next time when I earn it I will take a screenshot and ill give you the link of the game in my combat history.
and with the “Halo Channel” cellphone app you can see how many combat skill medals you have and yeah now it’s 123.
forgot to check my rencent “from the grave’s” because I earned a few more and now it’s 116.
- it’s showstopper if I had to geuss.
so now
- Combat Evolved (2) |X| - Snipeltaneous (2) |V| - Perfection (2) |X| - Fastbal (2) |X|are still plausible combat skill medals
EDIT: I’ve been snooping around in other people’s medal and commendation progress, and I can safely say that for example showstopper is most likely a combat skill medal. just look at Pandorumz service record he has 74 combat skill medals 71 from the grave’s and 3 showstoppers.
but I can also rule out fastbal because for example because I looked at multiple service records and it doesn’t add up

and when looking at Adversity’s service record, he has 44 combat skill medals 42 from the grave’s and 2 snipeltaneous medals and he and I also have 2 immortals.
but I don’t think immortal count’s towards this because it already count’s towards the “unstoppable” commendation
finally after looking at these service records (Datsun Watson, Pandorumz, B18TunerDaniel, DeadlyFartCloud, With Adversity)
I can safely say that
- From the Grave - Showstopper - Snipeltaneous!are combat skill medals.
I know this has been discussed in a few threads but does anyone have a definitive list of what medals work towards this commendation? Also any help regarding the close quarters commendation would be great. (I know brawler counts ) . Thanks

1st lvl =10, 2nd lvl =20, 3rd lvl= 30, 4th lvl =50 and 5th lvl = 100 medals
- the close quarters commendation is a mystery to me because i have 178 CQC medals but I have way too much medals for it to make any sense
- BXR (13)
- Gun Punch (16)
- Beat Down (111)
- Brawler (139)
- Snipunch (11)
- Melee Kill (453)and even if I’d combine brawler with BXR, Gun Puch and Snipunch then I’m @ 179 and not 178.

Not sure if you guys have found out yet, but Reversal gets you medals towards it, just figured it out. I was getting tons of points towards it but couldn’t figure it out and then I saw my medals for the past few games and I had a ton of Reversals and now I got it complete!
