Combat knife

Did anyone realize how strong the combat knife must be to penetrate a spartan’s energy shields and their armor? Also in one of the HALO 4 campaign missions the chief sticks his knife into a covenant ship to save himself from falling, but how is this possible??? A human knife can penetrate covenant shields and armor???

it could be made from the same metal as spartan armor and then mixed with the strength of a spartan moving the knife it could be possible. i mean they flip tanks without breaking a sweat, right?

  1. Gameplay purposes

  2. Put almost anything in the hands of a spartan, and it becomes a deadly thing…even a 5" blade

As far as shields are concerned, they work by stopping faster moving objects and energy (bullets and plasma fire) but a slower moving object can make it through. By comparison, a knife moves slow compared to a bullet.

They may not actually work like that, but it makes sense to me.

Yeah, when the chief stabbed the ship even I was taken aback. Granted it’s a science fiction game but I mean come on, have some rules for the love of God.

It is made out of adamantium… Doh!

Shields are indeed designed to stop fast-moving objects only. If you stick a knife through it the shield will not realize something is happening and not have any effect.

As for the phantom stabbing, the combat knife is made of titanium coated steel which is pretty badass, plus the fact that the stuff the covie ships are made of generally don’t seem all that dense. Coupled with the chief’s monstrous tri-ceps I believe the entire thing is actually legit.
