So, I know that there’s a PC edition for Halo 2 that doesn’t work for Windows 10. But I’ve also heard that CE got one as well. Is there a way to download this for free? And, if there is, does it work on Windows 10? Thanks in advance.

Firstly, it is against the rules to ask for ‘free’ games and no one here will help you with that.
Secondly, Halo 2 Vista does work for Windows 10 but as with all Games For Windows Live titles, you are required to download the Games For Windows Live Client from the Xbox website and update it first before launching any GFWL game. This fixes the majority of errors regarding the GFWL side of things. You then must force Vsync (to 60hz) in your graphics card’s control panel because Halo 2 (and Shadowrun) have major glitches when running over 60fps. The game will now run fine even without compatibility mode on Windows 10 but failing that, run as an admin and compatibility for Windows Vista. Halo 2 is physical copy only and its CD key like other GFWL can only be used 5 times before requiring a new one. Therefore, it is recommended to buy a new copy to guarantee that your CD key will work. Halo 2 Vista’s official LIVE servers for online multiplayer have been shutdown but you can still earn achievements through GFWL and you can LAN, as well as play online through other means.
Halo PC can only be bought physically and has no download version available for purchase. There is no CD key limit but two users with the same CD key cannot be in the same server. With a genuine copy of Halo PC and a genuine CD key, you can also download the free add on, Halo Custom Edition, which features various improvements to the netcode and allows for a vast amount of custom content.
And as for a fun bit of trivia - Halo PC was the first online Halo game, beating Halo 2 on Xbox to the punch by 1 year, though Halo 2 remains the first online Xbox title in the franchise.

Ok,
first: I wasn’t actually asking for the game. I was wondering if it had a free download somewhere like 2 does.
two: Thanks for being helpful.

Yes you can get both campaign and multiplayer for CE and Halo 2 on just about any PC. Here’s some more information:
