I loaded up Combat Evolved Anniversary and suddenly an update loaded up. Any ideas on why an update of sorts came along for an older game?
360 version or MCC?
360 version I assume is likely the result of a generic stability update or the 360 downloading the previous update as a result of emptying the consoles cache.
To my knowledge, HCEA is not supported anymore and is due no further title updates outside of MCC.

^ Both correct. A number of backwards compatible games have been receiving updates recently so it’s likely some changes within their emulators
