combat engineer tweaks

I have been noticing combat engineers being highly unresponsive when I try to command them to heal my vehicles or buildings up when I need them to. To solve this issue I think instead of having that command set to the y button, marines should automatically repair vehicles on their own accord if they are near a damaged vehicle.

?
This is how they work already. The second marine upgrade right?

They automatically heal, its not their y ability.

Y ability for Marines is the grenade, the Combat Medic is the auto healing rocket launcher marine, if he gets killed, no more healing.

even if they marine squad is at full health and I have a group of them surround an injured scorpion, not all of them will heal it automatically. Its only when I spam the command for them to heal it is when the whole group would decide to heal it.

I dont think there is a command for them it heal, unless you mean getting them all to bunch up next to the scorpion.
Sometimes the mechanic is slow, I’ll admit. But, as long as they’re near the building/vehicle, they do heal it.

The upgrade effects the whole squad it does not matter what marine is alive or dead.

Really, they never heal when I just have one marine left, probably will test this out later. I’ve been using Marines a lot more in my armies. Ever since I saw them take a Vulture.

There is currently no way to order your marines to heal a vehicle/building with there 2nd upgrade.

This upgrade acts more like a passive then an action and requires your units to be idle next to the vehicle/Building you would like to heal

When playing in multiplayer I find this feature of the upgrade to be very inefficient when trusting a computer to automatically heal a vehicle or multiple vehicles. Maybe I want my nice shiny Jerome mantis or scorpion to be healed instead of the warthogs accompanying it. Or maybe I want to do an emergency heal on my base when an arby decides to send a bunch of enforcers to my base. Or a scummy shipmaster decides to teleport a bunch of locust to my base. In moments like that I want as much control as I can possibly have over the marines.

You could move all marines and mantis into a separate area.
Otherwise, you’ve got nightingales.

You just push x

Why would I want to do all of that extra work just to heal one unit when I can command the group of marines to heal myself? In a game that tries to be more fast paced than it should be with its BIGGER emphasis on micro, its the lack of control that stunt the marines full potential and also harms UNSC leaders when it should not be the case.

Not that straight forward but it really should be.

Go heal a vulture a in a pvt game without a idle marine and send me the clip.

Im sure one of your fanboys wouldn’t mind taking the time to help you test this out.

Not sure about xbox but, on PC you can direct marines to heal a unit. I don’t really see them autohealing anything.

Apology Accepted

i do think their healing response could just be a little faster
