colorblind struggles

it’s extremely difficult to tell who is on who’s team. I can’t see the outlines used to differentiate teams. please add options for colorblind modes and or return it to team color options.

You can change the colors of your squad, your team and the enemy team in the settings

Did you try changing the outline color in settings?

You can change the color of the outlines my guy

I think in the final game we will be able to turn the outlines off.

Doesn’t help everyone. I played with a color blind friend on the weekend and he found it impossible to tell friend from foe even after manipulating the outlines.

Being able to custom select a full body color for the opposing team would be far more helpful.

Pretty ironic that the outlines were only added to help accessibility and even those with color blindness hate them.

There’s outliers everywhere my guy doesn’t mean the system doesn’t help significantly more for most people.

Welp sorry to hear you telling me all those colors didn’t help? Also 343i would never do that because cosmetics they want money lol

Its just an excuse cause they want people to see the coatings people paid for.

I also have a colour blind friend who finds the outlines make things substantially worse.

As another posted said, just having control over what colors teammates are would be a huge improvement.

I’m not your guy.

If it was truly for accessibility purposes, the outlines would be opt-in. We all know the true reason they were implemented and that’s to pad daddy -Yoink!-'s wallet via cosmetic microtransactions.

Alrighty then.

It’s dual purpose. People so mad about F2P.

I’ve suspected that most colour-blind people would have an easier time seeing full coloured Spartan’s rather than just a line around them. But I’m not colour blind so I wouldn’t know.
What colours are difficult to distinguish for you? Do you think all colour blind people would find it easier to customise team colours for full armours. Or do you think some types of colour blindness would be helped better with outlines? I’m curious.

Anyway, I’m not colour-blind, but I also find it very difficult to tell teams apart.

Obviously, it’s a conscious design decision on their part, but I would hope they take Microsoft’s professed commitment to “accessible gaming” seriously.

What it amounts to is fewer people playing matchmaking or those with an issue being excessively and unnecessarily frustrated by the experience.

In my friend’s case, he didn’t feel comfortable playing with random people for fear of attacking teammates who don’t understand. The only thing he had going for him this weekend was the fact that friendly fire was disabled, and even that doesn’t help with vehicles. Chances are he’ll avoid matchmaking all together when the game comes out and that’s disappointing.

Get him to submit a ticket to Insider Support explaining his condition and why it doesn’t work for him and get him to compare it to a game it does work and how that does work by comparison.

Maybe that feedback can actually help provide a solution for him and anyone else that cannot use the new system and give 343 some more to work with.

As currently the system is built on what works for the most colourblind people (not all).
