A friend of mine is red-green colorblind, and the only complaint he really has about Halo 5 is the lack of a colorblind option. Is there any possibility this could be implemented? The red used in a lot of the elements in Halo 5 multiplayer (the red “X” marking a death spot, red names appearing over enemies) is basically invisible to him against backgrounds of a similar color, and it really makes the game hard for him to play. It would be great if Halo 5 had these accessibility options, especially considering peer games like Battlefield 4 and Destiny have them.
One reason I could see for not including this is because if you did this people with normal eye sight would tend to have a way better advantage as well as mess up like hiding/sneaking and other factors. What makes the avatar “easier” to see for a colorblind may make the avatar basically glowing for normal vision. Again I’m not saying there is nothing that could be done I’d just worry about that it could drastically alter the game (making it even more unfair for people who play normal and the colorblind).
Some of this could be fixed by allowing more ascetic customization that doesn’t impact game play directly. Like making the avatars stand out better could make normal vision players see it even easier, BUT no reason the radar or X icons and stuff couldn’t be shifted to whatever color the player wanted. Yeah it would take more programming but instead of preset modes that may not fit an individuals color vision issues they could do it to whatever they truly like.
I can’t see why not. Your just gonna have to make a lot of noise for this.

They could just do what Battlfield does and just do it for the HUD elements.

edited my original post to fit this****
But…but… We can’t have Halo copy from other franchises! /sarcasm
This wouldn’t affect me, but if it helped even the playing field, sure, why not?
Other games have color blind options. I`m surprised Halo doesn’t.

Same, it seems like a really easy thing to implement, too.
