Color Coding for Warzone Bosses

When the Warzone boss refresh was introduced, it was explained that bosses would be color-coded according to tier: Campaign colors for normal, Red (covies)/Gold (prometheans) for legendary, and White (covies)/Red (prometheans) for mythic.
Actually playing, however, you will find this isn’t always the case. While promethean bosses are mostly consistent, covenant bosses have appeared in all sorts of permutations, no matter the tier (normal hunter bosses can appear as campaign OR red, normal elite bosses almost always red). Additionally, most wardens are appearing in the appropriate gold and blue color, but some Legendary wardens still appear in campaign colors.
In this case, I’m wondering if the color set is indicating ACTUAL strength, not just tier. Has anyone noticed anything like that? Are red boss hunters stronger than campaign-color hunter bosses, even if they are both “normal” bosses?
Same goes for vehicles, wondering if anyone has noticed stat differences between Red boss vehicles versus the Temple-lookalike vehicles.

Yeah I’ve also wondered the same and this brings up another forum which I can’t remember its name that said if the crawlers that are blue/gold why don’t they drop their weapon variants if they are visually different such as red/gold dropping 2nd tier(song of peace) and blue/gold having 3rd tier(razor’s edge).

White: Boss
Yellow: Legendary Boss
Red: Mythic Boss

It can’t get any more simple!
