I assume the team is working on resolving this, but that is just my assumption. Do we know that this is something that will get fixed? Has anyone confirmed that a fix is in the works? I am also interested to know when to expect this as it was not mentioned at all in the last balance update and patch.

The bug wasn’t known at the time of the last patch, and you can’t fix a bug through a server side update. Hence why it wasn’t fixed when the balance changes came.

I know, but I haven’t seen anyone acknowledge that they are even fixing it, assuming it is unintended. I have seen multiple posts about how it cant be resolved in a server side fix, which was what the balance changes were updated. It has been quite a decent amount of time since it has become widespread, I am just curious if it is intended or if it really is going to be addressed. Information is scarce through fear of spreading the ‘exploit’ but communication that it is being fixed, and a rough order of time would be helpful. I pretty much prepare for the cheese everytime I see colony and it gets me off my gameplan.

To the extent of my knowledge the team is aware and is working on a fix.
We have to remember that they have a small team working on this and the time that the exploit was discovered they were working on getting the balance update out. Right after that they had Thanksgiving. So the chances of them getting the bug found and fixed before then was really low.
However since the holidays are over I’d expect/hope a fix to come in any time soon. I would hope they have all hands on deck with it.

I think they could have “fixed” the issue with a server side update.
It might be possible to disable a leader power or swap it with another one through a server side update. I’m not certain if it’s possible, but it would have been better than what we have now.

As far as I know, swapping leader powers only requires a few numbers to be changed. The cost of the leader power could have been increased too, it shouldn’t be any different to changing the cost of a unit.
Either way it looks like we’ll be waiting for a patch to fix it.

This is true, they could’ve (Possibly still can) increase the cost of the power to something ridicules to help prevent further exploitation.
But moving leaders power’s is probably out of the question short of an update.

Talking about changing values, I’m pretty sure the reason Colony’s exploit works the way it does is because it counts as a structure now, and we all know structures grant LP XP. The same case is with mines, for those who don’t know, mines are a problem with this exploit too, just not nearly as big. This problem showed up after mines and similar powers started “benefiting” from the fortify upgrade right? I can only assume they went the easy route and made leader powers like these count as ‘structures’ so that they could easily benefit. Assuming I’m right, a server side update couldn’t switch the ‘value’ of these leader powers to count as ‘units’ once again? I DO like the idea of fortify making certain leader powers like these better, but if the exploit works because they count as structures that grant LP XP because of it, switch it back please and fix it up later to work properly.

That gave me an idea.
If server side updates are so small and easy to do with coding why not just make the LP cost 99k-99k lul
