Finally managed to install colony through the manage game section of xbox one. It installed and i load up thr game. However colony still says locked and “purchasable from store”

Having the same problem, dude. It even says that I own him when I go into the store, yet I still can’t play as him.
EDIT: OK, it turns out that you have to manually install Colony. Problem solved.
This is a known issue OP, it has been addressed by ske7ch in the pinned thread for Colony at the top of the forums
