So skitterers cost 200 supply and 10 energy… are they even worth purchasing In early game? Because I feel that 2 choppers is stronger than chopper+skitterer… (I know they aren’t exactly the same price, 45 supply difference but close enough) or same thing with 2 grunts beats grunt+skitterer?
They work best alongside engineers since they heal (engineers) based on a percentage of overall hp.
Also they work better en masse in blobs. Not one on an individual unit.

But I guarantee 8 choppers w/ skits would beat 16 choppers w/o skits.Or at least do far better than 1 chopper+skit vs 2.
But generally they are also meant to be used on the tankier things like the hero, wraiths, engineers, hunters and goliaths.
I’ve been building goliaths early with skitterers. Because when I go to a base and let’s say it’s all flamethrowers, I just keep running around the base while skitterers shoot the enemies. My goliaths can’t be caught by flamethrowers. I think skitterers are a little underpowered to be honest
I always do a Goliath with 2 skitterers. They have massive health and can do medium damage.
I believe they are most effective in the early to mid game but mid to late i don’t find them to be worth the investment in population
Skitterers are great for high value units. Scarabs and Hunter Captain should always have them as the extra health and damage just make them better at their roles. Veteran vehicles benefit nicely from a Skitterer or 2. Also garrisoned units (Hunters in particular) will be much harder to uproot and can do a ton of damage. And your Skitters will gain promotions while attached to units; a 3* Hunter Captain with a pair of 3* Skitterers is a thing to behold.
They are a bit expensive for early, but when you get your economy established they are great at turning the tide if you augment your normal army with them (such as adding them to your Engineers or Goliaths)
