Colonial Defender: The next Halo 5 update...

Warzone Firefight is out, and the future of Halo 5: Guardian’s free content is uncertain. We know 343i has more updates in the works; they are other armor skins being teased in Warzone Firefight screenshots (including a variant of the Wrath armor set with flames painted on), as well as an unfinished Plasma Launcher from Halo: Reach that has been seen in the hands of Grunts in Warzone Firefight. There’s also a ton of classic armors, weapons, and vehicles that many are hoping 343i will bring to Halo 5: Guardians.

Here’s an idea of how they could deliver. I present to you, my dream update, which for now I’m calling the “Colonial Defender” update:

Colonial Defender (Halo 5: Guardians Content Update)
-Colonies across UNSC space and beyond are under threat of the Created as well as remnants of the Covenant. In an effort to turn the tide and better protect the frontier from threats both new and old, the UNSC commissioned new weapons and vehicles from Hannibal Weapon Systems and begun distributing previously decommissioned MJILONIR variants to bolster morale, including the famous Mark V armor variant worn by the original Spartans and Master Chief himself.

New Features:
-Bodysuit Color: Further customize your SPARTAN-IV with the ability to change the color of your Spartan’s bodysuit; or even toggle the color off complete for an entirely matte-black suit.

New Armor:
-Mark V/GEN-2: The Mark V armor inspired by the Master Chief’s armor in Halo: CE Anniversary, first featured in Halo 4’s Infinity Armor Pack DLC, returns as a Mythic unlock. Suit up. We’re just getting started…

-EOD: Another classic armor variant returns from Halo 4- with it’s original armor skin intact- as an Uncommon unlock. Armor specially customized to reduce the likelihood of dismemberment when handling explosive ordnance.

New Weapons:
-Halo 2 SMG: For those who love classic weapons, upgrade your arsenal with the classic M7 Caseless Submachine Gun from Halo 2, complete with aesthetics and sound effects from Halo 2: Anniversary’s multiplayer.

-Dual Halo 2 SMGs: Though you may give up the ability to throw grenades or melee when equipping the dual-wielded variant, the paired Halo 2 SMGs more than make up for it with the ability to provide withering fire in close-quarters combat.

-Grenade Launcher: The popular “Pro Pipe” from Halo: Reach returns. With the ability to either detonate on impact or on a delay that causes an EMP burst, this weapon can be equally effective against both enemy vehicles and infantry in skilled hands.

New Vehicles:
-AV49 Wasp Variants: Command the skies with new and upgraded variants of the AV-49 Wasp VTOL featuring Corporate colors and markings as well as Urban, Woodland, and Tundra camo. Should you require more firepower as well as sturdier armor, ONI and Hannibal variants have also been made available.

-Hannibal Warthog & Gungoose: Hannibal Weapon Systems has put their own spin on the Warthog and Gungoose, outfitting the standard chaingun Warthog with the same gauss-chaingun tech as the Hannibal Mantis, and the Gungoose with powerful new magnetic grenade launchers that lock on to targets and reload faster.

New Maps:
-Geothermal: A symmetrical take on Molten optimized for team-base objective games including Assault, Capture the Flag, and more. Like other Arena map variants, this map has a more run-down, abandoned look to it.
-Strike at the Domain: A new Warzone map set on the Forerunner shield world of Genesis. Spartans must train to retake the Domain from the Created. During simulations, SPARTAN-IVs may find themselves pitted against the likes of the legendary Didact himself.

Notes:

*The Halo 2 SMG is identical in almost every aspect to Halo 5 SMG, gameplay wise. Like the Halo 2 Battle Rifle, it features increased bullet magnetism over the base model, and has a simple zoom-in function like the Brute Plasma Rifle when Smart Scope is activated.

*The “Glassed” armor skin for Mark V/GEN-2 gives the armor a charred, blackened look as well as a cracked visor similar to the Mark VI/GEN-1 “Scarred” variant. EOD uses the LG-50 Bulk legs and Mark VI forearms from Halo 4. The base variant uses the exact same armor skin as in Halo 4, while the “Hannibal” skin applies the same markings and patterns seen on Hannibal vehicles.

*The new Bodysuit Color option appears under Customization under the color tab. The player can either choose a color independent of Primary Color or toggled Bodysuit Color “Off” to make the bodysuit all-black, like the Spartans in the Campaign.
*There are 3 new Stances; “Pro Pipe” depicts your Spartan taking aim with the Grenade Launcher. “I Need A Weapon” depicts your Spartan cradling the Halo 2 SMG. “Finishing This Fight” mirrors the Master Chief’s stance from the Halo 2 box art, crouching and holding the Dual Halo 2 SMGs pointed at the sky.

EDIT: Added ideas for the 3 new Stances to go with the new weapons. Also changed EOD alternate skin to Hannibal.

It is cool, but don’t have to much hope or you will be so disappointed

343 should take this idea.

You wrote all this yourself?

This would be awesome. I miss EOD.

I’d much rather have the ODST SMG than the Halo 2 one.

That would be awesome but it doesn’t look very likely to be honest.

Please rename your thread, it’s very misleading :frowning:

Uh… yeah? People come up with ideas a lot more thought-out and complicated than this all the time, but this was just something that jumped into my head at like… 6:00 in the morning.

I would say make EOD an ultra rare armor set, so it isn’t a super common throwaway armor like recon or scout.

Guys we need a story dlc, pls.

This would be awesome, but I think that it has more content than 343 can fit in a regular monthly update.

I love the sound of this, but Bravo said in yesterdays community update that there will still be content but not as often or of the same scope. Probably just a new game mode and a few maps here and there plus loads of forge stuff and new reqs every now and then. Unfortunately I would be surprised if we see an update of this magnitude

Idea very good but at this point we just do t know what’s coming up while I’d love something like this it’s kinda of uncertain what’s coming who knows EOD may come next update

Im liking the undersuit coloring option

I like it, very much. You should genuinely work for 343i, as these ideas I believe would be liked by both audiences of halo, new and old.

Terrible idea, the little story input I get from this game was enough to destroy my Halo story experience. You want to add fuel to this fire?

Sounds awesome, one thing though: is molten not a rig remix? So would this new Arena map not be a remix of a remix? I think that would piss a lot of the community off, lol.

I don’t think so. I’ve looked around Molten, and it doesn’t look anything like The Rig…

Actually it is a remix of the rig…
