So Halo infinite is the first game to propose no collision between you and your allied and between you and your ennmies. I really enjoy there isn’t collision between me and my allied, I don’t like to be push by them when I run. However, it’s feel really weird to cross ennemies and it make really diffcult to punch them, I really hope this will change.
Both one you can do some fancy team work stuff if you jump on your allies head, Infinite does have finicky collision with enemies sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t even grenades have fincky collision with allie ssometimes they will go right through them other times they bounce off.
Well players don’t collide at all, allies or enemies, though I agree other collisions are finicky. But enemy and ally collisions are both completely gone.
I mean… it doesn’t though. You can open up the code files of the game and see it for yourself; there is no collisions in the game, at all. The spartans’ collider zones don’t touch one another. Or better yet, just go test it in Custom Games. If you’re seeing collisions with enemies, it’s because you’re getting hit by something else that stops or pushes you (melees for example, will push you). You can walk right through an enemy, every time.
they may have made it a setting in CG but I just played a matchmaking game and walked back and forth through an enemy who wasn’t playing nine times. There’s definitely no collisions, at least in matchmaking.
I’m honestly starting to suspect that the lack of collision is why the melee is so damn broken. The amount of times players just phase into eachother or get a “backsmack” from the front is causing my suspicion.
Yeah. I noticed a similar issue in CS Source years ago. When you collide with an enemy player, your knife can actually hit the back for an instant kill.
I see a lot of players complaining about how it’s dificult to hit an ennemy without collision. It’s look like a big default in the game, I can’t believe it’s still a debate, why 343 don’t fix it ?
This is one of these things where I was open for it - thought to myself: “hmm, there is certainly an idea behind this, let’s see how it will impact the gameplay”…
…and after 2 months, I really, really, reaaally hope they turn the collision back on. At this point, the negatives outweigh the positives without a doubt.
Only time not having collision is annoying for me is when I fire a weapon or toss a grenade right as someone walks through me and it bounces off them or blows up in my face ( rocket ), thus killing me.
Outside of that though, I don’t really notice it lol.
