Halo 5: Guardians released on October 27, 2015, however the Limited Collector’s Edition released a week early on October 20, 2015.
The game could not be played early, but it could be installed ahead of time. I remember the lack of a disc was controversial, but I personally loved this system.
I was able to buy my Collector’s Edition and a week later play right away at midnight when the game officially launched. I would love it if something similar happened for Halo Infinite.

Yes that is good, but the method used for Halo 5 allowed you to have the convience of a digital preorder but also the physical goodies if you chose buy it.

Ya true. I guess just let those who have paid in full recieve a download code for the game once the Physical edition is shipped and have the download require a disc. I mean we usually have to install a disc anyways. Red dead 2 had me waiting till the day after I bought it to play

I’d like to see this trend continue. I’m all for digital versions of games, but I really like getting some of the collectable editions with physical extras
I believe they did the same thing for Halo Wars 2 AND they allowed you play earlier then people who got the standard edition so perhaps the same can be said for H6.
Yeah, I sure hope the limited edition releases with a digital copy. That would be particularly great for Infinite as that means you will get both the Xbox and Windows 10 version of the game. Which I want. Cause I don’t want to buy the game twice.

I do recall hearing something to that effect but there was a physical edition in the UK or somewhere.
