I saw this post someone made that would help me figure out why i havnt gotten my codes yet. http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/2505/p/401740/2034746.aspx
i couldnt help but notice it said to users 17 and older. Im 15 and my account is set to me being 15 years old. So is this true? Will i not recieve the codes because im 15?
Im level 67, cmon!
Halo 4 is rated M for mature, which means 17 years or older.
No code for you. Its illegal for promotions involving mature rated games to be given out to underage accounts.
> Halo 4 is rated M for mature, which means 17 years or older.
im not stupid, i know the ratings. But its not illegal for someone to be younger and playing, its just illegal for them to purchase without an adults concent.
this is stupid 343. I payed over $60 for your damn game, been playing it since day one, and you wont even give me full access to the ranks!
> this is stupid 343. I payed over $60 for your damn game, been playing it since day one, and you wont even give me full access to the ranks!
Join the club. I’m “of age” but I didn’t get an e-mail for whatever reason. So I’m stuck just like you and many others.
> No code for you. Its illegal for promotions involving mature rated games to be given out to underage accounts.
This is correct. It’s along the lines of a store selling a rated M game to a minor without the consent of the adult.
It’s simply not allowed, there’s nothing that can be done except hope someone has a spare code.
if i have the consent of an adult to purchase the game, then you’d think id have their consent to access extra content related to the game.
It’s all in the whole “legal” system of the xbox terms and such.
You have the game yes, but the promotions relating to the game still abide by the same rules, and as such your account being under 17, was not included in the mass mailing.
There’s no way for Xbox to have a parent adjust a setting on the xbox to make it permanently consented, so to speak.
I’m not saying you’re not mature enough to play the game, it’s just how these promotions work, it’s a promotion by Xbox and they are required to uphold the laws of the ESRB, and as a result, eliminating accounts below 17 years of age, from participating in the promo.
> if i have the consent of an adult to purchase the game, then you’d think id have their consent to access extra content related to the game.
There’s parental control settings for that. OP unless you’ve been disallowed from downloading M rated content I wouldn’t worry. Microsoft isn’t your mum, they’re just going to give her the tools to do her job.
Actually, scratch all that it’s a legal thing. I’m still going to maintain the same tone though. This isn’t just a matter of accessing extra content (I’m sure this isn’t the only way to access all specializations. Just think of how badly that would hurt everyone getting this game for Christmas) It’s a matter of accessing extra content early through a promotion. That requires certain things and being of consenting age is one of them.

I agree, just like if you have Halo: Reach you can make it to Inheritor so what’s the difference with Halo 4? There is none other than they email you a code just to reach the highest rank? Nonsense. Anyone who buys the game should have access to ALL ranks.

On a technicality, everyone does have access to all ranks.
Limited Edition just unlocks them first. The option is there, simply some decided to pass it up.
I’m not trying to be a jerk here. I’m just really tired of people complaining because they either dropped everything in their life to play Halo and capped, and then complains because they didn’t buy the Limited Edition. Everyone will get their chance.

You didn’t sound like a jerk, he is just saying he thinks he will not receive a code to allow him to pass SR-70 because he didn’t buy the Limited Edition because he isn’t 17+.
I was just saying if they do not send him a code just because he isn’t 17+ then that is wrong since he (or whoever bought it for him) paid the 60$ just like everyone else who bought standard edition.
well im level 67 and am more diserving of getting that content early than some of the level 20 17 year olds.
> well im level 67 and am more diserving of getting that content early than some of the level 20 17 year olds.
Yes, you deserve the code, however, you aren’t more deserving than anyone else. I would give you mine, but I can’t figure out where it’s at. If it went to my billing address, then it would have gone to my dad’s email because my Gold subscription is tied to his card still.
i think im more diserving than someone who picked up the game on November 20th and ends up getting the code. Just cause theyre older doesnt mean they should get it and not me
sounds good to me.
maybe this can help weed out the cancer that shouldn’t even be in this game to start of with.
the amount of times i’ve had someone try to run me over for a gun or had my vehicle destroyed, only to hear the person doing it sounding like a 9 year old is far to many.
the more these kids gaming experience can be made less enjoyable the better.
> Well, I’m level 67 and I am more deserving of getting that content early than some of the level 20 that are 17 years of age.
No, I don’t believe that you are more deserving. What makes you more important than someone else?
Besides, Halo 4 is rated M for Mature by ESRB. You shouldn’t be playing that game.
Though, you never mentioned your country. You could be living in Australia where Halo 4 is rated also rated M for Mature by the OFLC, however films and computer games classified M contain content of a moderate impact and are recommended for teenagers aged 15 years and over. Still, children under 15 may legally access this material because it is an advisory category.
So, if you lived in the land down under. You would be fine.

i cant tell you how many times 40 year old men whine and cry because i got in the vehicle first. I bet you ive got a deeper voice than you, so dont stereotype me as one of those squeakers

i live in the U.S.
and I am more deserving. Think about it, who has earned the ability to get all the levels more?
The 15 year old who has had the game since the day it came out and is level 67.
or the 40 year old who got the game on November 20th, and is level 5?
i think the 15 year old who is level 67, because atleast he got the game at the begining, and is almost to the cap.
Haha, finally! Adults that play halo are finally catered to.
