In Call of Duty a majority of the people who play it because it is really easy to play; a ten year old can just jump on and kick butt. My point is that the Halo community may be smaller but the amount of heart we put into enjoying the game far excedes the amount of sales BO2 will have. P.S. if Halo 4 beats BO2 then good I hope I am wrong I am just going by previous Halo titles as reasoning for this post.
Large sales won’t make the game any better, I find the new font on my local Chinese takeaway menu more interesting than CoD’s or any games sales figures.

Off course the series that has the most mainstream appeal of all games at the moment will get most sales…
However:
1: That doesn’t take away from the fact H4 is doing very well for a series that has peaked long time ago.
2: That doesn’t matter to us in any way whatsoever. CoD might sell more copies but does that take away from our experience playing the game? Nope. Not in any way.
Alan Wake for instance sold decently at best, still I had more fun with that game than with RDR which outsold it 10 to 1 or so.
3: Sales are no indication of quality. McDonalds sells more hamburgers than any other company out there…but that doesn’t mean their burgers are the best you can buy.
H4 came 2nd in E3 and CoD didnt do well
Yeah, I was super convinced that an exclusive could outsell a game on four platforms.

Wii U is coming out soon… still a generation behind though.
You would have to be blind, or deluded to think Halo 4 would beat the sale figures for Bolps 2. (yes even just on the Xbox, CoD still wins)
We may not like it, but its the sad truth, Activision’s formula of pumping out “similar” iterations every year work extremely well.
Non of this matters to me, come November 6 I’ll know the money I spent on Halo 4 will provide me with a much deeper, engaging and downright BAD*SS experience than any CoD game ever could.
What if Halo had sponsors…

and yet developers tried to produce a HALO killer not a COD killer.
an analogy, when running a restaurant you compare yourself to other popular restaurants and use them as a metric of your success in making good food…you certainly do not use MacDonald’s for it even tho it is by far one of the most lucrative fast food franchises in the world
I only care about the game, not some numbers on a sheet.
I don’t understand the whole Halo vs CoD thing in terms of sales
at the end of the day, as someone who’s gonna be buying both games, does the fact that one outsold the other increase or decrease the enjoyment or playing either? No, it doesn’t, it will have no effect at all on how I enjoy or play either game.
The only way sales figures will even come close to impacting my enjoyment would be the amount of people playing each game online, and niether is gonna struggle to put in a lobby ever.
No, the only reason CoD is going to outsell Halo, again, is because whoever the dev. of Halo 4 is (not naming names), is ruining Halo completely, taking it in the opposite direction that it needs to go. They should have listened…
Why was this thread even made to begin with? All the op is saying is that CoD is more popular but we have more “heart”. So what? Did this really need a thread dedicated to it? I said this before, it seems like 99 percent of the internet is in agreement that CoD is terrible. So here’s an idea. Instead of beating a dead horse and constantly bash CoD, how’s about we just shut up about it?! Ya don’t like CoD? Me neither. Let’s save ourselves the stress and not talk about how much it sucks. It’s like, cool to hate CoD now, everybody wants to come up with these intellectual reasons why they don’t like CoD. I don’t care just shut up about it if you hate it so much. I swear the CoD fanboys don’t talk about CoD as much as the haters do.
