I, for one am one who enjoys the Halo’s to death regardless of what has been added and taken out, though there are quite a lot of things I would like returned to Halo but that’s for another topic on hand. Anyways, I always felt Halo had a better overall gaming experience, more so than CoD by any means. So I was wondering why does everyone like CoD so much because the simple and limited copy and paste formula? There are posts I see on here about people wanting Halo to return to the roots it once had which I am guessing the simplistic slow moving Spartan with less innovation and just another copy and paste formula. To me I wouldn’t like to play Halo 3 all over again and because of Reach which I found is indeed my favorite Halo, evolved Halo into something people disgusted and most of the complaints I found was over stupid things but looking at CoD they copied off each other and nothing more, so how is that fun and interesting?
So why is everyone complaining rather than giving 343i the insight to make the Halo series better? All I have ever seen on here are complaints and complaints and barely anything positive or literally constructive to help 343i. So what happened guys? I enjoy Halo 5 atm but with later update I feel it will be better than ever, though I miss a lot of previous installment gametypes and customizations.
Alot of people enjoy CoD because its so much easier than Halo. In CoD, a player whose never played CoD could kill a veteran CoD player just because of the TTK but in Halo, a new player is alot less likely to kill a veteran player just because of the TTK, large skill gap, etc… So if a new player is constantly getting rekt in Halo, he won’t have any fun. Than he turns to CoD and that game makes him feel like a god because of how simple it is to kill others therefore making it alot more fun for him than Halo. So then, it’s like why would he play Halo when he sucks at it while instead, he can play CoD which makes him feel like he’s pro. The only way to get good at Halo is to put practice into it while in CoD, you basically start of as a pretty average player who gets a fair amount of kills and deaths.
Like you said it’s all a matter of personal opinion. I’m like you… I didn’t get an Xbox one before Halo 5 launches and for that I bought the Special Edition Xbox one 1To. I enjoy Halo 5 and hate it at the same time because they did some major change to the game but hey, I’m going to get use to it.
Being a fan is being a fan. I do not play CoD or any other FPS game except Halo. The reason is pretty simple, why be good at multiple game if you can excel in one? I would go back to CoD and player would outkill me (<-- is this even a word loll).

Idk what Halo you’re playing, but if we are talking Halo 5, The TTK is almost identical to Destiny’s Which is also pretty close to COD’s so…
COD does suck, which makes me confused as to why 343 would borrow so many elements from COD and force them onto Halo.
Also, what’s the point of this topic? The mods don’t like Halo vs COD debate topics on this forum, especially since the franchises are melding together.
I prefer Halo over COD anyday!
I am an old school Halo fan, started on CE, been along for the whole ride. I also have come to really enjoy COD’s multiplayer as well. However! Black ops 3 is the fist COD I will be passing on. Advance Warfare introduced all that verticality double jump nonsense. IMO COD has gone the ways of Reach and Halo 4. People bussing around in the air is highly disruptive in being able to establish predictable and controllable line of sight norms. Drastically shifting lines of sight only introduce a chaotic reactionary experience. No thanks, I suffered enough of that with Reach and Halo 4.
I like COD. Even have BO3 but it’s nowhere near as good as Halo 5.
To me Halo 5 is more fun. It’s more like the old days of Unreal Tournament or Quake. There was none of this getting behind cover and camping you get in most shooters nowadays like COD and battlefield.
Halo 5 is closer to Quake and Unreal than any other modern game which is why it’s currently my favourite shooter. Although Titanfall comes a close second

For me Unreal 1999, ah good old memories lol
You can state all of the similarities between Halo 5 and COD , but really at the end of the day they play nothing alike.
Yeah COD sucks soooo bad, 343 industries had to copy most of the mechanics from cod just so halo can stay in competition for worst game of the year. Stupid 343 fan girls…
I never understand why people compare what is “the better game”. It’s like the console wars, imo. It’s all about personal preference. Why bash a game that gives other people enjoyment? Don’t step on somebody else’s cake because it has some nasty-I mean decent coconuts in it. COD isn’t for me either, but I’m glad it brings enjoyment to many. Now I’ll be on Halo if anyone needs me. Cheers.
Again, I will reiterate myself. Call of Duty and Halo are nothing a like, the only things similar is that they have to do with war and are FPS games. In Halo you actually have to try, unlike Call of Duty where you need no skill base to get a killstreak. COD = novice players, Halo = skilled players, Battlefield = skilled players, and I can keep going on. The main point here is that Call of Duty is for the less experienced players, that’s it.
