Anyone else think MW2 will be a huge threat to Infinite?
343 has time and time again shown that they are not capable of leading this franchise. Lack of content, no coop, terrible progression system (anyone else despise challenges), terrible decision making (customization options, release of playlists/gametypes meant to be big deal, sbmm in casual playlists), uneventful events…and so on and so on.
Honestly, I’ve been playing more fortnite lately than this barebones of a game lol. You can bet your you know what I’ll be playing MW2.
COMMUNITY THOUGHTS?? If thete even is a community left thanks to 343 lol.

It is strange to say the least.
Master Chief is Microsoft’s Xbox Mascot.
Now Captain Price, Ghost, Gaz, and Bubbles will be taking that mantle if 343 doesn’t get their act together.

No. CoD is nothing. It’s an overrated series.

I dunno, never really enjoyed the CoD games after they started modernizing them out of the WWII era… Haven’t even touched them.
Overrated?
Certainly
But that still doesn’t do anything to stop the ever growing list of 12 year olds from buying the games every year.
It’s like Pokemon.
Each one is basically the same formula, but does it in a remixed fashion so they are each somewhat unique.
And every release is successful because there will always be children to desire the game.

Yet, CoD seems to keep a much larger player base, and 343 is struggling to keep players around.

what kind of fantasy world do you live in dude? in 15 years cod titles sold over 400 million copies. halo as of last december sold 81 million units. overrated. sure i’ll give you that. calling it nothing though is a flat out lie.

I think that $70 price tag might deter some. It’s certain going to deter me from buying it.
I have a little bias when it comes to CoD. Too mtx-heavy for my tastes.
Ever since 2014’s Advanced Warfare, its been nothing but lootboxes.
bout time 343 wakes up outta cryo sleep i guess, halo infinite needs more content and playlists

Halo Infinite was lucky to launch alongside crap like COD Vanguard and BF2042 (RIP Battlefield). I think Infinite’s decent level of polish in its presentation and gameplay (at least compared to peers at the same time) has been the big thing keeping the game alive. Its a shame because coming into 2022 was Infinite’s chance to sweep its mediocre competition away.
While I don’t thing any other game or franchise by itself can kill Infinite, 343 really needs to get the ball rolling on substantial content updates to give Infinite the tools it needs to stay alive with a healthy community. Core features and new maps are taking too long to get here.
Of course. This game is content barren as is and MW ‘22 is going to be the successor to Call of Duty’s best design decision since CoD4.

if only other companies followed the same design decisions, not to name names or anything
Its definitely overrated, but it certainly isnt “nothing” if its the best selling FPS franchise ever.
(also nice pfp, 20XX/30XX are awesome games)

No threat for sure! Halo over Call of Duty all day every day!
Nope it’s just gonna be copy and paste for modern warfare 2 remake and it’s definitely gonna have cheaters on launch day since it’s gonna have warzone so no
The way I see it, this could go one of two ways: either Activision can buckle down, learn from Vanguard’s colossal failure and crush all the competition. Or, they can do what 343 did with infinite and give in to Microsoft’s endless demand for more shops masquerading as games.
I personally think the later is significantly more likely, but I thought Infinite would release as a finished product so, I might not have the best judgement in these matters.
i think every gaming company needs to take 2 steps back and quit releasing these unfinished games, forget DLC and MICROTRANSACTIONS. just a fully complete game and nothing else. The industry needs to raise the bar and leave it there. its like there is no rules for them anymore, they are all fine releasing trash and ruining their reputation as companies.
i think its funny they put credits in the battle pass too, here do these challenges and earn your money back by slowly getting the credits you should be getting in the first place.

I feel like I’m in high school again seeing Halo and COD fans talking -Yoink!- on each other for some dumb reason.
Halo is a solid game with questionable monetization and release practices with an active fan-base that has died off a few months after release. COD is a solid game that will probably have questionable monetization and release practices with an active fan-base that will die off a few months after release.
Truth is when it get released it’s going to suck away a lot of Infinite’s player base since it’s the new shiny game on the block. It happens all the time with games. COD at it’s core IS a solid and fun game to play no matter how many Halo fanboys cry over it. I’m not sure how long that’ll last though, after the honeymoon phase people tend to go back to games like APEX. Although Warzone apparently remains a very popular game mode out there…
