CoD in space

Thats what this game is and its so disappointing. Loadouts, jumping in and out games, camping, no one talking, exp.

343 took what was an original idea and turned it into a generic activision game.

As much as I don’t want to, I have to agree with you. No one talks anymore, the game is so fast paced and teamwork is almost non-existent. It just turns into a free for all, camping mess. None of the objective based games are even fun for me personally. You die way too quickly, first one to get shots of with the DMR (if they know how to shoot your head) wins. To be honest, I hate the fact that you re spawn instantly in slayer. Takes away the penalty of having to sit and wait for a few seconds while someone else is gaining on your lead. Dying just doesn’t have the same feeling of “-Yoink!-!” that it did in the previous Halo games. You traverse maps so quickly with sprint that none of them feel like actual Halo maps at all. Ragnarok is just… ugh. I just don’t feel it with this game, it is not Halo imo.

Its sad to say it but this game is way too similar to CoD. I miss having to work to get good guns and games based on kill count and not “600 points” or whatever they are doing now. It almost feels like activision created 343.

I forgot to mention the lack of ammo and the kill cams. This is ridiculous

100% agree. its sad to see what halo has become

What’s up with all these newbies coming onto Waypoint all of a sudden and bashing the game relentlessly?

What happened to these forums?

Newbies? Are you serious? Been playing Halo forever. I normally don’t post on forums, but Halo 4 has upset me so much I couldn’t resist. -.-

“newbies” came because they were concerned with the game they love and they want to make sure 343i gets it right.

Absolutely nothing happened. This is the aftermath of the release of a new Halo game. It’s the same pattern every single time. New people flood the forums within the first several days to hate on the game, then whine and spam threads to make it seem like the game is the worst thing to ever happen since -Yoink!-, while the people who like the game are either too busy playing to bother posting much, or they just watch and laugh.

Other people are less extreme, and are otherwise satisfied but have some good points to bring up. But they tend to get overshadowed by the extremists.

Happened in every Halo game since Halo 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and now 4. It’s nothing new. So no worries.

lolol its the best one.

Where were you kids at when Reach was out?

oh that’s right black ops…

Yes, cause our concerns and whining about the game have no legitimacy. Just because someone whines about something doesn’t mean their opinions are bad or wrong.

I really honestly thought these thread would wither and die post launch, i guess not Haters Gonna Hate

I couldn’t agree more…it’s like they just said F the actual halo fans and lets make this as much like call of duty and try to win a lot of them over. The game plays way different not in a good way and you die extremely fast there is no counter attack at all once you are shot its game over…wait unless spawning and running to kill the person who just killed you is a counter bc the respawn time is non existent. Very disappointed in this game.

I KNOW someone is going to come in here and say “Its not CoD! The core gameplay is completely different!”.

That isn’t the point. The “core gameplay” may still be Halo…but it has so much useless, out-of-place and unneeded crap bolted onto it now it might as well not be Halo.

Instead of trying to play to the game’s strengths and make a really good arena shooter (like Halos of old), 343i went the easy route and “borrowed” a crap ton of things that don’t fit well with the series’s core from another series in order to try and make more money and attracted some imaginary audience only 343i believes exists.

Whatever gains 343i thinks they’ve made with these changes will be annihilated when Black Ops 2 releases and everyone goes back to the series that has been doing what Halo is now trying to do for years.

Ugh.

I hate the people who say so and so is now officially COD.

I even heard this on the SKYRIM forum when it came out.

The gameplay isn’t like COD. They added features which literally almost every FPS out has adopted. It’s the way FPS games are now. Classes are huge.

I really think it’s the best Halo to be honest. Sure there are Call of Duty like features ala Customizable load-outs, kill-cams, et cetera, but it’s very much a Halo game at it’s core. The beautiful mechanics of Halo have not rusted.

I think the COD’esk features make the game a bit more addicting, which is a good thing.

all they’ve added is unnecessary crap that didn’t need to be added. with all the development time they had the game came out with a short -Yoink- campaign, about 6 multiplayer maps 3 per game type 3 small, and 3 big. and really a lot of them have really poor map design.
it seems they took all this time to think up some stupid ending for the campaign, and how to take -Yoink- from CoD and make it not seem like its just a total rip off.
and while the loadout idea is good its just not put to a effective use and ends up being a -Yoink- poor choice due to the fact people just spawn with ammo perk and a damn DMR and move 5 feet from their spawn to a camping spot till the sniper respawns or they get air dropped one.

don’t even get me started about how many times iv’e spawned and before i can get my bearings im getting shot and die 5 secs in.
they’ve turned spartans from 8 foot walking tanks into regular joe CoD soldiers.

Really? Cause none of those things you mentioned make the game play like Call of Duty.

I would understand if they put in .3 second kill times, low jumping, slow movement, insta-kill nades, Sabre airstrikes, Pelican gunship strafe-runs, and game-ending Halo activations.

Sorry, but fast player speed, focus on headshots, “Halo 'nades”, floaty jumping, strafing, and long kill-times are what sets Halo’s gameplay apart from the rest.

Complaining about instant respawn, and “camping” is just nit-picking.

First DMR shot always wins? That right there simply proves you’re bad. End of story.
Everyone camps yet the pace is too fast? Way to contradict yourself.

Either enjoy the game or sell it. The millions of us don’t care about your opinion and you won’t be missed.

Would you guys say that Halo 4 is worse than Reach (in terms of multiplayer)?
And if so, then just play the campaign, the story is amazing.
