A handful of COD Pro’s got Ghost early and on twitter they have been confirming features. Additionally, they’ve also been saying what’s not. Here is a list of some of the major features:
-No Theater
-No League Play
-No LAN Lobbies
-No Spectator Mode
-Gametype Hardpoint Removed
-Gametype CTF Removed
-No COD Caster (What is this…?)
With that said, I feel as if the COD community, at least the competitive one, will be in the same predicament as the Halo community. We’ve missed a handful of features and have gotten additional ones that break the game. 343 have tried to bring them back, but it’s obvious that they really have done the best they could to the game but it’s still in a time of terror. Knowing Infinity Ward from MW3 and them not listening to the community, I’m not sure they will fix these features either.
I’m not sure if the casual/playCODalldayerrydaybutnotapro community will react the same way the Halo community did, but with this list of features it surely is possible. What do you think COD Ghost will be in a year? Do you think that the competitive community of COD will slowly tear away to another competitive scene? Or will the popularity of the franchise be too great for players to think it’s bad?
Also 343, now’s your time for a comeback
I couldn’t care less about COD but isn’t Ghosts being developed by Infinity Ward?
If so that explains a lot as after West and Zampella left an already average studio became that much worse.

Wait, there are CoD pro players? It’s possible to be “pro” at CoD? and why do they have the game early? What right do they have to get it early?
Easy insulting aside, today many games have features that are not available until the game is released. Many reviewers even have problems reviewing the game as multiplayer is locked until the release date. Some are even doing ‘two reviews’, one for the single player and one for multiplayer. Some of those features probably even need the typical first day patch to get going.
As for CoD in a year, are you serious? The population will take a massive hit from next years model. With the new consoles coming out, a lot of the community for pretty much the entire industry is going to be shaky for a while, with the CoD population taking a hit from people transfering over. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if all forms of competitive play needs to spend the next year taking it easy during this transitional period.
On top of that, many people are getting real tired of the CoD franchise and we’ll be seeing numbers drop due to excessive monotony. Even if the next game sells well, I’m under the impression that the population will drop the fastest any CoD game has seen.

What do you mean “there are COD pro players?” - Competitive Call of Duty is huge ATM with an annual $1 million COD World Championship, multiple MLG events and other events such as Gfinity and UMG. Teams like Optic have hundreds of thousands of fans and players often make $100k + a year from tournament winnings.
In terms of COD: Ghosts, there are similarities between Ghosts and Halo 4 but with one key difference - Ghosts has a guaranteed $1 million World Championship and is confirmed as the sole FPS on the MLG circuit so therefore the competitive community will be fine no matter how limited the game is. Halo 4 on the other hand essentially had no competitive scene after MLG dropped it. As long as huge tournaments are run for a game, the game will be somewhat successful (the hype created by the H4GC for example).
I’m afraid Halo 4 is BECOMING CoD
Not to mention Bungie and Activision working together on Destiny.
The second I saw CTF being removed I exchanged my cod pre order for destiny…
CTF I has been a staple game type for FPS shooters everywhere and is arguably the most competitive…
If cod ghosts isn’t going to have it, the. I can already tell MLg this year is going to be bad…
I hope MLG picks up all the other great FPS’s coming out to, otherwise I can see MLG dying out
Those are all issues better suited to the CoD forums rather than here.
