I know Halo fans and Cod fans can butt heads. However does anyone plan on buying the cod? I didnt like many of the games but I loved the original black ops. Never played the 2nd.
I stopped buy COD after MW3. And I’m so happy that i made this choice. The lasts COD are such a waste of money
Get out.
Joking, but from what I’ve seen it looks more like AW. No I don’t play it or plan to.
Halo will be better
Because Halo 4 had terrible frame rate issues on split screen, I switched to Black Ops 2. Right now I have no other choice, but to switch to BO3 entirely. Good job 343i, CoD became better Halo than Halo!
Many people say that CoD is same every year, but BO2 was very different to both MW3 and Ghosts. Advanced Warfare totally revolutionized CoD’s formula with full 3d movement and is, in my opinion, the best online shooter of this generation. Black Ops 3 will, most probably, be even better, as it was made by CoD’s veterans, it emphasize on 3d gameplay (like Advanced Warfare or Titanfall or oldschool arena shooters - which I totally love, as I played Quakes and Unreals a lot as a teenager), and it’ll be direct sequel to best CoD game of last generation. Until 343i brings back split screen to Halo 5, all our (mine and wife’s) money goes to Black Ops 3 + season pass.

This is what they say each and every year.

…and in case of Treyarch it’s true
World at War was much better than CoD3, Black Ops was much better than World at War (even though I would love CoD go back to WWII) and Black Ops 2 was better than Black Ops 1. In last few years only decline for series was Ghosts, where Infinity Ward tried to compete with Battlefield by making oversized maps and some very affective killstreaks.
At this point they’re just copying other shooters. They stole the “future” and “suits that enhance your physical capabilities” ideas from Halo, and now they just stole wall-running from Titanfall. It’s pathetic, really. And what’s even more pathetic is that a whole bunch of brainless teenagers are going to keep buying it, over and over and over again, every year without realizing that it’s just going to be the same as the last game.

Actually the exo suits that they used in CoD: AW are based off of actual exo designs that the U.S. Military has been testing for use in 20-30 years and if you want to talk about suits that increase the wearers physical abilities read Robert A. Heinlein’s Starship Troopers you will see what was copied from Heinlein’s universe into Halo and what is actually in use today in modern society. But you are right about the lack of advancement in CoD they can change the title and generation of the game but it can never be improved upon game wise.
CoD BO 2 was the last CoD I ever plan to play. Now I’m hooked on Arma 3 and Battlefield

That’s how CoD rolls since beginning (and I mean the first CoDs that were borrowing from Halo): get the best ideas from other games, polish and incorporate. Sometimes it doesn’t fit (like vehicles, that were finally abandonned since WaW), sometimes it fits well and becomes part of what’s called “cod formula”. There are very few original ideas in CoD series and actually, this is why each Call of Duty is so successful: it’s not the name (e.g. Ghosts is quite low on popularity charts, despite being first next gen CoD), but the fact that each year’s new ideas are still relatively fresh to the genre and at the same they’ve proven themselves in action.

I’m pretty sure the exo-suit idea has been around for a while now, so I really have no idea who copied who.

Halo did thruster packs earlier to be honest… But it tells a lot about Halo’s fanbase, as their feedback makes their game very stale, as opposed to “stale” CoD that actually keeps evolving each year, successfully incorporating features, that were hated elsewhere.
I hate COD, I am your basic Halo loving COD disliking gamer.
I doubt I will pick up BO3 mainly because I just can not get in to the multiplayer these days, It just feels way to fast for me.
COD 4 Modern Warfare was my favorite out of all of them for multiplayer.
Not unless the zombies mode is awesome (not interested in the Multiplayer), even then I’ll wait untill it goes on sale down the line. I made a big mistake buying AW and the season pass just so I could play zombies, never again!. Seeing as Halo 5, Battlefront and Fallout 4 are coming out around the same time as well, I don’t think I’ll have any time for BO3 lol
The last Cod I purchased was the first black ops because my friends coaxed me buying it. Haven’t purchased another call of duty since then.
Nah; I’ve been done with Call of Duty for some time and I don’t see that changing unless the developer/publisher do something crazy like release the game’s additional maps for free like what 343i/Microsoft is doing with Halo 5.
I played Call of Duty: Finest Hour on the original Xbox and Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, plus Call of Duty: Black Ops II on the Xbox 360. I think Call of Duty raised to a level of greatness with Call of Duty 4 and released pretty fantastic games from then up till Modern Warfare 3; however, I greatly disliked Black Ops II and was completely turned off with the series with the direction of the franchise after that game. While the movement system in Black Ops 3 does sound intriguing I just don’t have much interest in getting it; I’m way more focused and interested in Halo 5, Destiny’s The Taken King, and Star Wars Battlefront.
I will not be purchasing or playing it. If it was World at War 2 I most likely would. I have not enjoyed a COD game since modern warfare 2 because Activision is more concerned about pumping a game out every year and making money than they are with the quality or creativity of their games. Saddens me to see what is happening to Bungie and Destiny for this reason. The COD games I played and really enjoyed were COD 4, World at War, and Modern Warfare 2, I felt like COD 4 was the last type of good advancement the series made. I played advanced warfare briefly and the graphics were sub par and it seemed like they were trying to be too much like titanfall.
I’ll definitely buy black ops 3 for zombies and just to have fun with friends but Halo will be my go-to game
