Just bought and played COD BLOPS2. Quite a mess…but I can see why some people like it. I’m going to give it ago. Halo feels so much more organized and tight. Got to get used to the odd LT trigger zooming in bit.
Is there anyone here that plays both?
Most likely a lot. I tried (borrowed) COD 4 and the newest one and did not like them. Having my only FPS experience being Halo games it felt too weird to me.
CoD makes me angry over everything. It can be fun somtimes. I just hate the dark corner mcdoogles who camp for hours. Halo doesn’t have nearly as many campers.
If I feel like actually playing seriously and trying to win I’ll usually hop on Halo for a few matches but if i’m just insanely bored and just feel like messing around I’ll play a few matches of CoD until I rage quit.

I have not played BO2, but all of the other CoD games are exactly the same, so I can compare them.

hehe yes…and they’re all dressed in black and the maps aren’t colored to be fair in that regard. Never knew how much red and blue were so much more fair compared to COD.

oh well…my bad. The 2 are so different. I can see similarities though, but not enough to warrant all the complaining people have been doing since H4’s release. I kinda wish I never sold off my Halo Reach

yeah…something about the large blue reticule that turns red feels so much more rewarding…than a non color changing white dot or red laser sight.

I play both, but out of three, Battlefield is the preferred game

ah…yeah totally forgot about that. Wanted to try BLOPS 2. There’s got to be a fairly decent reason why it’s the #1 played game on XBL.

It’s noob friendly, with quick, twitch-based gameplay that’s easy to pick up. And I think the “realistic warfare” somehow appeals to people in a way other genres don’t.

There are other modern warfare games that aren’t near as popular, such as BF3 and Counter Strike, the latter being almost purely twitch play.
I assume CoD is popular just because it is, if that makes sense. It was very well marketed when CoD4 came out, and from there it wasn’t difficult to keep hyping the franchise while retaining the original fanbase.
Or just because it’s easy, while BF3 and CSS are not.
To be honest, H4, Reach and BO2 are the only games I play. On Black Ops 2 I basically only play the Campaign and the Multiplayer on LOCAL. Please don’t hate me.
Yeah. I bought CoD for $50 on sale in Feburary, traded it back in three weeks later, got $21 back. I don’t regret it. Story was fantastic, multiplayer was garbage and full of tryhards.

Black Ops 2 has two things Halo 4 just simply doesn’t have: ranks and longevity.
Treyarch actually put effort into changing the game up with their Pick-10 class system, and they actually put in a lot of effort into supporting eSports and the competitive community right off the bat. Much more than can be said about 343 did for Halo.
Unlockable camos give me something to work for, and there is a sense of accomplishment when you finally master a weapon and get it gold, then eventually diamond. It gets me using all of the weapons on offer, while Halo just gives me an armor set I’ll never use.
At least Halo isn’t about running with 3000 attachment on an SMG and kill everybody in a 2m^2 map with 3 shots from an 1800 RPM weapon while continuously running with 10.000 perks and screaming 10 years olds.
Maybe I’m a bit overshoot this but that is what it’s all about.
Respect to players who can emerge in COD. It’s difficult to not die there.

when u use your Halo patience on CoD with that careful feeling of
something is behind that corner…(campers of course) the games become easy.
also many guys in multiplayer, if u kill them with a smart tatic or in a row that isn’t camping or something else calls u hacker, bot, etc.
and the worst…little kids, but im not against little kids playing, im against little kids who scream all the match and trash talk, of course u can mute them.
Battlefield over CoD anyday.
Own both and I regret buying Blops 2. It’s better than MW 2 and 3 but that’s not saying much. It’s still a CoD game so its filled with cheap kills, BS kill streaks that do the killing for you, lots of camping and “who sees who first” game play, kids and more kids, ect.
I’ll take H4 over it every time.
