Call of duty is getting a movie for goodness sake has the most generic Micheal Bay campaign’s ever… War Craft movie looks, intresting but never played the game so I don’t know what to expect. But with the success of Halo 5 there are still SO MANY fans of halo out there! Halo would CRUSH a COD and arguably a war craft movie. Halo has one of the deepest lores and could make a movie based off one of the books or make a new story up easily. If there’s one thing 343 is good at is the extended universe. I’d personally like to see the movie based off the Fall of Reach (book) I think they key to success would be John. He has to be in the movie for it succeed in Hollywood. Who would Microsoft team up though to helm this movie? Many of you may not like my answer but I would love to see Disney work with Microsoft and 343. They have the experience with Marvel and Star Wars. They would let 343 do there thing and provide them with the resources.
What do you guys think of a Halo movie? We should have had one by now… district 9 was a great but a halo movie IMHO would have been better.
Well, there was Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. On the Halo Channel, its a mini series but on Netflix it’s a full film. We had Nightfall as well but I do think that a full length movie would be good. And not just distributed on the Halo Channel either. I would like to see it in the cinema (movie theatre).

All though those were all good (night fall was a little blank tbh) but like you stated a cinema release. Nothing can compre to that, imagine what FUD could have been with a huge budget! We NEED a halo movie people would flock to it I’m telling you
Steven Spielberg is directing a Halo television series, if that interests you. However, there has been no news on a movie. Sorry.
I personally would love a movie, so I’m all for this.
Didn’t know there was going to be a CoD movie, but it’s not surprising that there hasn’t been a Halo movie, because in comparision to the other franchise, it actually tells a story. So what story would be told in a movie that we haven’t already played? And if it wasn’t something people are familiar with, why would they go watch it? I think it would be awesome to have a Halo CE movie, but I very much doubt that would happen.
Yes - there needs to be more Halo movies/tv. I believe they are making a series right now, pretty sure it wasn’t cancelled.
No - disney does not and should not ever touch Halo. They have brainwashed enough kids already and they would ruin Halo for good. Sorry but that is my opinion of disney, they suck.
WoW and Halo are similar when it comes to the depth of story, especially when novels are taken into consideration. With that being said, the Warcraft movie doesn’t seem to follow the story/lore very well… Story that’s been established in the games/books, which is a huge problem for me.
There was supposed to be a Halo movie just over half a decade ago (I believe), but (I think) that 20th Century Fox bailed on it after Microsoft asked for too much, and the director (which I believe was supposed to be), Neil Bloomkamp, then ditched Halo for District 9.
Also, what’s up with that Halo TV Series by Steven Speilberg" I heard about it forever ago at that one announcement made by 343i, and I haven’t heard anything on it since.
Is it still in production or did it get scrapped, like the movie?
All that being said, I’m sure the Halo fanbase could, in theory scrape together enough money on a kickstarter campaign to get a big-screen movie going. (If Roosterteeth can do it for something as silly as Lazer Team, then we can do it for a franchise as big as Halo). Maybe we can get one of the good novelists, like Eric Nylund or Greg Bear, to hop on board as a screenwriter, and get Neil Bloomkamp interested in coming back for a second shot at Halo.
While we are getting Nightfall, none of these need any film to back up the games. CoD is the typical copy and paste FPS game, WoW is built upon the community, and Halo has a certain depth with it’s characters and weapons.
None of these things can be truly experienced through a movie. Hell, even the cutscenes for the campaign don’t do the characters justice some times.

It would be such a delicate film. Every little detail and scene would need to be extremely well crafted!! Mind blowing fight scenes without cheesy references to break the immersion. A good 2:30 - 3 hour film would cut it nicely for in depth story and not simply rushed! The rating would be an issue also. If we wanted to see flood, i want them to be terrifying like climbing up the walls all twisted and mangled. some dramatic deaths and of course some major league master chief “-Yoink- em up” cut scene which blows peoples minds and makes him the bad -Yoink- hero he is. I want his fight scenes to surpass that of avengers. Some great and believable acting parts.
