Cobra and Hawk Flag/Team Symbols?

I KNOW this is not the biggest deal, not really whats important… BUT What is the deal with the teams designation as a Hawk and Cobra or whatever they are?
I mean, does anyone know why? And does anyone else, find it to be; annoying? LOL

Again, I get it, not that big a deal. Im just not getting the connection, or why the teams have these two symbols. Can they not have symbols?
They look like symbols for a little league baseball team. Or something that would be used in Fortnite. Basic little emote or something.

But Halo Infinite is awesome and all that and I can’t wait to play again and get all the super duper legendary editions and all the cool stuff… as long as it doesnt have that goofy little snake and bird symbol on them.

The names are a reference to the halo ce team flags, red had a cobra and blue a hawk.

The Red and blue teams arent present in infinite, therefore the new names, You also have to take into account that we can select the color of the player outlines so it’s easier for 343 to have 2 teams than to have 10 teams with different names.

Yeah these are some real legacy emblems, you could select them in older Halo games.

Okay… I still think they look corny tho. It’s just a visual detail that I think looks tacky. But it’s cool there’s some history/story behind the choice.

I think they look neat, but that’s my opinion.

Though if 343 adds multiteam they’ll need to add other teams. (Maybe stingray and shark from h4, idk).
