yo just cause i have cat ears means nothing. i wanted them. they couldve been cheaper but still. hence my gamertag and personality. 343 will find a better way to please people with these coatings, whether they outright scrap the idea or give us options. itll happen. but then again im optimistic.
Iâm waiting for them to be universal, Iâm so done with Mark VII getting like a full page of Coatings meanwhile Iâm like struggling to find a coating that I like for Mark V[B] & the Rakasha core
I feel like coatings and the standard color customization can coexist. Coating allow more unique patterns and textures for our spartans ( coatings even effect visors and undersuits which i really like as i prefer them to be nice and clean), but the standard allows us to choose the exact colors we want giving the player more choice, of course only be limited to certain parts of the armor being changed.
warframe did it right. Warframe made more in cosmetic sells on colors alone than infinite is with its coatings system. Given that warframe is currently a functional model, all they have to do is copy it. Theyâre not going to do that because their philosophy is at odds with reality, and the players will suffer for their delusions.
ill gladly take a 1v1 to show anyone how big of a shill i am. this comes with tea afterwards of course because i promise i wouldnt lose
I mean I would but like,
Season 2 Pissed me off so much that I uninstalled the game honestly.
Launching the thing fills me with so much impotent hatred that I fear that I might burst a blood vessel.
So I started playing 7D2D instead.
So much more relaxing than infinite is.
mhmmm shill away then buddy, have a good day
I canât tell if your actually offended or if you realized that I was making a joke and youâre taking it way too far.

im joking as well buddy, i have no time for chaos
This was its own Pixar novel. Love it.
Honestly I walked out of LSS with a 1st place 1750 point win and my first time I attempted ranked was today and I walked out top of the board with a win.
It felt good after switching to being a PvE player after a decade. Still canât keep up with the kids and teens all that well but hey, what can you do? Stocking up hack n slash and RPGs take your edge off.
Anyhow, off the system could even go to a on off choice or integration of the two ideologies the fanbase would be much happier. And more inclined to play the game i think
Coatings would have to act as a âlayer appliance of your choiceâ iâd imagine, while the layer can be customised with colours you can use freely, iâd be fine with that as a payable option since im at least able to change the colours as i please then.
The lack of customization freedom in Infinite to me, is kind of jarring and off-putting.
Iâve met zero people that look like my spartan thatâs cobbled together from weekly ultimates, events, battle passes, and store purchases.
Also, itâs rich that youâre complaining about people looking samey and then offer up Warframe as an example, the game were 90% of players are using gold-studded prime variants and twenty flowy ribbons with dark/angsty color schemes.
Edit: Also each time I see someone on the forum âscreamingâ for something to change, I monetize. So if thereâs a coating for sale later today Iâm gonna buy it.
Thatâs⌠Completely missing the point of what weâre getting at and baiting for an argument on grounds that are not at all related to the discussion at hand.
No one is asking for gameplay to be sacrificed for the sake of cosmetics (343 already did that with the outline system), weâre asking for a substantially better coloration system that puts more control in the individual playerâs hands so that they can create the Spartan they like. Warframeâs system is perfect for a Free to Play game. Players are given a basic level of color customization to start with and can buy increasingly different and distinct coloration options for further customization.
Thatâs their freedom to do.
If they wanted 90% of them could be cotton candy blue and pink. If they wanted they could choose a less generic color pattern.
Your point means nothing.
Well, if youâre buying multiple store bundles, itâs not gonna be hard to make a more unique spartan.
It doesnât benefit you really unless you like it but okay, go throw money at 343 i guess.
I dont know about that one, chief.
As a stereotype, this works.
???
100%
My point being often these things go hand in hand. There is always a trade off with everything.
If they make less money through cosmetics, how or where else is this clawed back?
Right, but your point is completely nonsensical. The style of these two games are completely different, to the point that Warframeâs other monetization systems that by your own admission no longer exists could not be implemented into Halo.
There isnât a gameplay related trade-off here - 343 gets their microtransactions, and we get more fleshed out customization options. Your fears are wholly unrealistic. This has worked for years for Warframe and I do not see why the customization related changes to Halo also couldnât work here.
Itâs directly relevant to the OPâs main complaint about diversity of appearance. The actual part of this conversation that means nothing is:
Because it has nothing to do with what weâre talking about.
Once again, this applies to Warframe too. The overwhelming majority of cosmetics require premium currency to acquire.
Warframe had it in place because they monetised it differently, and changed based on backlash after it was unsuccessful. So can Infinite.
But acting like it was done form a point of generosity or player first mentality is shrewd. I was merely pointing out that giving it high praise is unwarranted when 343 is lampooned for arguably being more player friendly.
Iâve already said in multiple topics I believe it should be change. Just pointing out the hypocrisy.
