I have ideas for coatings such as:

  • Zeta night sky. This would be the opposite to the Zeta sky coating.

  • Chameleon is another where it changes colour either each second (Not to be confused with a trippy effect).
    Or it could somewhat match the colour of the current environment

  • A covenant themed coating

  • ODST

Or even Red vs Blue character themed

Arbiter themed Spartan coating and maybe armour!

Or… here’s an idea…. Stay with me here as it’s a wild one… 343 allows us to create our own armor coatings :face_with_hand_over_mouth: crazy idea right!?

They could take some community made and voted designs every so often. I made a post about this called community inspired content

They could come with the battle pass

Maybe just the shoulder pieces or all pieces besides the helmet and under suit for obvious reasons. You could have a transparent Xbox or chief green and other colours like they have done with consoles and controllers in the past. Call it crystal illumination

If they allow you to make your own coatings, people can just recreate coatings that people already bought, hence devaluing those purchases.

No. I mean that we design coatings and they make and implement them. People don’t have access to the Slip Space game engine and I’m sure that mod’s in multiplayer aren’t allowed/wouldn’t work as all players would need to install them

Ah, ok.

That actually could be a really cool feature and really gets the community involved.

We could make our own coatings and then submit then to 343, then you can vote on what coatings you want added to the game, if your coating got added in you could get it for free.

Yeah. They could do it like the custom controller colour creator except more detail. A 3d model of a Spartan that you can rotate, drag and place colours on and draw on and use a combination of decal shapes in order to add things such as a white outline on a piece of red armour for example. The Forza Horizon 5 vehicle editor is a good example. You could then make an entry and people can vote for the top 3 or 10 coatings
