No, you can’t play co-op on Xbox live anymore. The servers were shut down.

You could never play co-op over Xbox LIVE to begin with, it was only available for split screen.
Also, it doesn’t matter if it was hosted on servers or peer to peer, the original Xbox LIVE service was shut down April 15th 2010, Xbox LIVE ran off that service, so it is no longer playable over Xbox LIVE.
You can still play co-op on split screen though freely.
Yeah. The first Halo game to have online coop was Halo 3. Halo’s 1 and 2 only ever featured 2-player split-screen coop. The original Halo 1 release doesn’t even have online competitive MP.
In any case, the only way that Halo 2 could have any sort of online mode available on console now is if Microsoft rereleases the game.
