Co-op looks awesome! PLEASE include Split-screen!

After reading the Campaign Network Co-op Preview, I’m really looking forward to playing Halo with two of my friends!

I’m very worried about the rest of my friends though, with lack of mention on split-screen, my greatest fear is that it’ll be excluded. Especially since that fear has been realized with the last two game releases. I’ve been enjoying my Halo on PC, yet the Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite lacks any form of split-screen, it’s been a recurring frustration for me and the people I know. My friends are poor and can’t even afford an Xbox One, and my PC is my main multiplayer machine with spare controllers and being connected to my TV.

It doesn’t need to be in-depth like network co-op, it doesn’t need to follow multiple campaigns, it doesn’t even need to use any Xbox profile other than mine, I just want something basic and functional. With Halo Infinite’s campaign being the best part of the game, I want my loved ones to be able to play it.

Split screen is coming, you’ll just have to wait even longer. See season 3 at the bottom of the list (probably won’t make it in season 3).

Thank you very much! I’m still a bit nervous since, again, PC player, but that information is still good to know.

It is absurd that this game was released with no coop especially split screen. It’s a core concept to the game. They realized they could do more without split screen and sacrificed the best aspect of the game for… I don’t even know what, I guess some graphic or game size aspect that is irrelevant compared to the fun of playing with a friend. It would be like deciding to get rid of the guns in halo because you can make action packed sword sequences. That might be good but that’s not halo, that’s not why I want to buy and play Halo. If 343 just leaned into the coop game play more, I think they would find massive success.

True, I’m not sure we’ve ever had split screen on PC, so continue to be nervous. I’m not sure how that would even work.

Valve offers some great manual support for it on Steam with four controllers, TV streaming devices, even letting people remote in on split-screen games so local gamescan be played from afar, it’s the only way to play the new Battletoads online. As it is now, I don’t think it supports multiple profiles, but most games will just duplicate the main player, so the lobby would have Nefnoj, Nefnoj (2), Nefnoj (3), stuff like that, super simple. I believe Master Chief Collection does the same for people playing on Live but if only one player has Live Gold.

really they should be working their butts off to make sure splitscreen is ready for season 3.
delaying it into next year would be ridiculous.

Yeah, just add it to the list of ridiculous delays.
