Alright so that’s the word. They may run into unforseen issues getting it out but will try to have it out tomorrow (Friday, July 15).
If it doesn’t launch tomorrow I don’t want to hear anyone complaining. We were warned.
If it’s not out Saturday? We riot. (Jk, don’t riot)

Co-Op Flight should be out tomorrow(“hopeful” was the word that was used).
And then Monday, Last Spartan Standing will be removed for one day(monday only), and then it will return Tuesday with “updates” and the new Alpha Pack Event and a new multiplayer narrative/cutscene will be available as well.

I still can’t beleive we have to even flight CoOp… 8 months after launch. And theres still a chance THAT gets delayed?

You can test something internally for years with the most thorough test plans imaginable and the moment you’re getting ready for the end-user, something explodes. That’s how software development works, broski.

The fact they couldnt get it ready for launch is already pathetic, everything else just shows more of their incompetence.

Actually this right here shows that you’ve never actually worked on anything like a big budget game in your entire life.

Meh… If it happens it happens. I don’t hype stuff, I hold till it actually happens.
It’ll be nice though if it does.
Funny how other big budget games seem to do it infinitely better than Infinite. Pun intended. Stop enabling and making excuses for them.

Literally nothing about this contradicts what I posted. Other companies can work more efficiently while what I said (limiting scope to release sooner) has nothing to do with that.
What do you think the flights are for? Unless you are claiming this is nothing more than a stalling tactic.

Well, that was underwhelming. This is probably the most barebones version of co-op I saw in a Halo Game.
No Mission Scoring
No Mission Timer (I’m not talking about the total run, just the time per mission)
No Option to play as anyone other than the master chief for non-host players
No exploration outside of 1000 feet from each other
No Split-Screen co-op
I can already tell a bunch of youtubers are going to say this is great progress. I assume most are desperate to hype this up so that they can feed their YouTube algorithm for their own livelihood. I don’t blame them, I just think it’s sad.
We shouldn’t have to set our level standards so low just because 343 isn’t capable of fun and innovative game development. Ya’ll can wake me up whenever they add all of these other “features” that were a part the rest of the Halo games at the outset (with the exception of Halo 5, also by 343, which lacked splitscreen campaign)

If you see the state that co-op was in when modders got split screen co-op working by messing with the build, you’ll know that it is definitely progress.
Also split screen is coming. Network is just going to be ready first. Like releasing campaign without any co-op before, the mentality is release what’s ready, don’t wait for the full package.
A lot of other features like scoring, and time tracking will likely also be additions down the road if there’s enough interest. It took Halo 5 over a year to get scoring in Campaign.
It’s time to accept that the devs aren’t lying when they say the Slipspace engine is difficult to work with. It is, and we can expect a slow content drip until they figure out a better way to make content. No amount of whining is going to get any of this done faster, and they are probably working a lot harder on it than you’d think.

You know, I never actually accused 343 of lying. If you bothered to read my post you would know that. But I, and many other Halo fans, have standards. In any given Halo game, there is an expectation that a Campaign mode is released with all the bells and whistles. It is a product.
If 343 cannot produce a quality product, then they are not a good business. So you an f’ right off with the accusation of lying.

Why dwell on that? The most important thing is getting the game back on track.
I’m still surprised we even got mission replay.
That’s proof of how far your own standards have fallen. Like hell if I’m going to not hold their feet to the fire until they create a REAL Halo game. One that has Forge AT launch, one that has a working Theatre mode, Custom Games Brower, Network AND Splitscreen Co-Op, AT launch.

Did you just come to this thread to start a fight?
I have standards and I know how much is missing from the game. I just don’t think it’s feasible to still be stuck on the fact co-op wasn’t at launch when we’re about 10 months into the game’s life cycle.
At some point we’re gonna have to let that go.

And? Im not a car mechanic so I cant judge a car for not having a steering wheel? Your right though, ive never worked on a “project” this big just like you.
But I promise you most other developers can use the resources that 343 has access to faaaaar better. 343 at this point is one of the least capable developers of our time. I thought Dice was bad but -Yoink!-, 343 hasnt done anything right for over a decade.

It appears I haven’t made myself clear in my responses so I’ll reiterate in more detail.
I am not excusing 343 for any of their shortcomings and such. In fact, it seems like the higher ups had it coming due to how poorly staff management is. They hire more contract workers than actual full-time workers so they’d have to pay them less benefits.
I’m simply saying co-op is close to coming out and some people are still saying that it should’ve been here at launch. I completely agree, but launch was 10 months ago.

That’s not what I said. I said you’ve never worked on a “big budget game.” I haven’t worked on a project as big as Halo Infinite, but I’ve been in the game industry for over a decade.
For this analogy to be correct, it would have to be “I’m not a car mechanic and don’t even know how to change my own oil, and even though my car is totally functional and working after taking it to the mechanic, I don’t like the fact that they didn’t leave a complimentary air freshener in my car.”
What a truly braindead statement. The base gameplay of Halo Infinite is very polished. It’s actually insane to look at a game like Halo Infinite and think “this was made by THE LEAST CAPABLE DEVELOPERS OF OUR TIME.” Are there lots of improvements to be made? Yup. But if you genuinely think Halo Infinite is the work of the literal least capable game developers in the world… you’re clueless
I really hope this multiplayer narrative thing going on gets turned into a broader multiplayer PvE type thing. Maybe they work firefight into that somehow. I hope its not just a copy and paste of warzone tho
